Ron Paul Doesn't Quit

A few news sources are misreporting Ron Paul’s e-mail from last night. The presidential campaign is not ending, not being suspended, and not even drawing down. It’s slimming down and ramping up — with over twenty states having already voted, we’ve shed staff, and we’re concentrating financial and organization resources on the remaining states. We’re going to the convention, and we’re fighting for every vote and every National Delegate along the way.

I'm not buying it. Either they are in it to win...meaning a third party run...or they are giving up.

Too fucking little too late. Did no one tell him that email will end most if not all your grassroot support and the money will come to a complete halt not to mention the fact that to send that email the night before two major caucus events was just stunningly stupid.

My son is a precinct leader in Wa State, he said half of those that were the most gung ho for Paul didn't even bother to show up today for the caucus. I am so fucking pissed off right now I can't see strait.

I agree the letter last night wasn't the best timing. I was thinking the press would twist this to indicate he was dropping out and wasn't serious anymore. Sure thing that is what happened.

We need to carry on, as we always have. It's always been a long shot, but there is still more hope than many of us realize - many unbound delegates floating around, and public enemy #1 is the front runner. We can still do this.

Despairing is what the Establishment wants us to do. Don't give in.

Noztnac, there really isn't a point to posting despairingly on every hopeful topic. I understand it's an emotional rollercoaster but...

From what I read, there has been only one 3rd party president elected. The system is STACKED against it. It's just completely unrealistic to expect to win in that situation! Do your research. With us getting 5-25% of the vote in the PRIMARIES, which only a tiny fraction of voters even participate in, how do you expect to get a majority (again, with no media coverage) with many more people voting? And how about the fact that even a majority can get overruled?

Ron Paul realizes these things. He's very smart, if you hadn't noticed. He is merely doing what it takes to maximize our chances all across the board. Texas = a lot of delegates. The presidency, or a seat in congress. Let's fight for both.

If you think about it, you can't use presidential donations for congressional runs until you drop out of the race. If he's asking for congressional donations, it's a clear sign that he DOESN"T intend to drop out.

If anything, I'd say it was an error in communications. That's the plague of interacting with other humans.

It's time to quit being hopeful and to start getting angry! Throughout this campaign everyone was in some self congratulatory overly optimistic stupor. And now people have somehow convinced themselves that if Ron Paul regains his tiny congressional seat that we have won. That's just plain absurd. I love Ron Paul but how much real impact did he have while congressman? The other corrupt members of congress just voted against him and ignored him time and time again. We did nothing about monetary policy. We passed the patriot act. We more than doubled the size of the department of education. Illegals flooded into our country. We started an unprovoked war that has cost billions of dollars and thousands of lives.

The Republicans will lose this election. The question is who gets to take the credit for it. It will be either Hillary or Ron Paul. I would prefer to have Ron Paul be the guy to put the final nail in the coffin. Otherwise people may think that Hillary and her socialist ideals are the solution.

With a third party run, even if Ron Paul doesn't win he prevents war monger asshole McCain from winning and gets the final laugh for all of us against the Republican party. The Republican party can and should be crushed right now for it's arrogance and horrendous reign.
The best way to get hold of the Republican Party is to crush the life out of it. Ron Paul is in a position to do just that but is taking the easy route, falling in line, and going back to his house seat, which might not even be there.

Don't worry. I'll leave soon. I'm giving all of the patriots here a week or so to come to their senses and to grow the balls to take the axe to the Republican Party right here and now. If you guys don't have the fight in you and you are resigned to defeat I guess I'll just have to leave. Too bad because I really had faith in this movement.

I agree as to the fact that if McCain is the Rep Candidate I would not like to see him win. Even tho I have always been a Republican I do not like the way the GOP has been acting since Bush got into office. As Dr. Paul states, they have lost their way.

Maybe the destruction of the Rep party may be the best way to rebuild it. I know in my district I am doing what I can by voting for the Ron Paul Rep Congressman, I feel thats one of the best things we can do. Make sure that we elect Senators and Congressman that support Dr. Pauls Ideals.

I think the campaign should send out another one clarifying and reiterating that the campaign to the whitehouse is continuing uninterrupted. Not every RP supporter is on here to talk about/hear about this stuff.

The poor timing and poorer still use of words clearly is reflected in the polls today.
