RON PAUL & DENNIS KUCHINICH Cross-party Ticket would be AWESOME!

I recently worked with some local meetup folks at the Takoma Park Folk Festival. For folks who don't know the place it is a haven for "Free Tibet," "Save Darfur," dredlock sporting animal rights activists. Not to knock any of that, people should be free to pursue whatever cause they choose, just not with my money. We had a small table set up with RP literature, some bumper stickers and few yard signs. I was amazed at the number of people who came by and told us Ron Paul is the only Republican they would ever consider voting for who then added that if he would join up with Dennis Kucinich it would be a dream ticket. Because of some wisdom I received recently that a potential supporter/voter, like a good customer, is alway right, I just smiled, handed them a slim jim and suggested they register as Republican to vote for Ron Paul in the Maryland primaries. In my mind, though, I was thinking "Either they don't really know Ron Paul, or they don't really know Dennis Kucinich."

I disagree. I don't think it would be a very good ticket. Basically the only things they agree with is the war.

I'm sorry, this idea is ridiculous. Why would any Ron Paul supporters want a totalitarian socialist like Kusinich a heart beat away from the presidency? We need a conservative like Paul in the VP slot.

The two of them get along well personally and have many similar views and approaches, but it's not going to happen.

I would rather see a Paul/Gravel ticket than a Paul/Kucinich ticket.

I, personally, 100% support RP but do not like Kucinich. He and RP agree on the war and that's about it.

So I'm going to have to say NO! to a Paul/Kucinich ticket. No way.

Why are you people all talking up these unabashedly huge government Democrats who want to mandate living wages, grossly higher taxes, wealth redistribution, signing the Kyoto treaty, increasing the benefits of our welfare state and extending them to all 6 billion people in the world, one world government, and pretty much everything that is diametrically opposed to Ron Paul?
Even on military they're not the same. Paul has a consistent, coherent, pro-defense, strong-military, non-interventionist, anti-UN philosophy. The Kusinich/Gravel crowd are pacifist clowns who love the UN.

theres a suicide pact spawned from hell.

Dennis' thought processes are laughable when you look at his views on the environment and his policy that is totally contradictory to private property and the Constitution (like any of the socialist/fascists).

not even considering Dennis loves the welfare statism we have created and wants it to be bigger (rewarding more irresponsible folks).

I wonder if people realize that Kucinich is a dyed-in-the-wool socialist? Exact opposite philosophy of liberty that Ron Paul espouses.... I don't get it, why do people keep saying this???

I don't believe that RP has a good choice for VP.

You're being too pessimistic. First, I doubt that you really know enough about every potential VP out there to issue the negative claim that none are a good choice (I know I sure don't). But even among the names that have been offered so far, there are some choices that are at least "good", albeit not "perfect", like Mark Sanford and Butch Otter, for two examples.

Yeah, there have been a lot of bad ideas on this message board lately; see the retard who wanted Ron Paul to meat with Iranian leader MA - but this might be the worst idea.

Flags,

Your analogy doesn't work because Dennis Kucinich isn't a very popular Democrat; see his vote totals in 2004 and his current polling numbers *ducks tomato*. If you look into it even further you will see that Dennis isn't even liked within his own district as he has three democratic challengers in the primary and last I heard was in serious danger of losing.

Is a cross party ticket a good idea? Absolutely, there are some good democrats and even though I haven't researched it much a cross party ticket of say Paul / Webb or Paul / Dodd or some type of anti-war pro constitution democrat would be great. However, Dennis Kucinich would do more harm to Pauls campaign than good.

Kusinich is a socialist! As VP he would be positioned to become a future president who would undo all that RP does...

I like walter williams
