Ron Paul declined CPAC so that he could campaign

glad he's skipping it. i'd rather have him talk to undecided voters.

Awesome to hear!

With all the news running amok about RP being denied entry, it's good to hear it was his choice and that the other RP will be in attendance.

Cool, Rand is going. He is a better speaker anyways, no offense Ron.
Yes, but only in a "technical" sense. When it comes to conveying the heart and soul of Ron's message, Rand can't hold a candle.
To the extent that Ron and Rand share philosophy, Rand does so intellectually. With Ron, it burns in every fiber of his being.
This is a distinction people can not only hear, but feel.

.

So is Rand speaking on Saturday? Most of us seemed to be inclined to purchase the one-day ticket for Saturday.

Seriously. The deadline to purchase online tickets is pretty much here. Can we get a hint as to when Rand will speak?

The CPAC site is having some issues too... MRoCkEd and I were unable to purchase tickets. We'll try tomorrow.

And this only makes sense if you are running to win!

As long as Ron wins the straw poll that is all that matters for CPAC...we have the youth vote already which is predominately who attends CPAC...while you can argue that Ron would get national coverage of his speech, quite frankly, Ron needs to concentrate his time in a state where he is competitive. If this means that Ron would spend two extra days in NV giving about 4-5 events, those votes are more important than some coverage from CPAC...

I think he might as well skip it.

The Republican establishment already knows that Ron Paul has dominated CPAC in recent years. They're probably already thinking of ways to ignore a Ron Paul win (again).

It's really sad, though, that so many 'conservatives' suddenly lost interest in CPAC once Ron Paul won. It used to be the 'national fair' of the GOP; so much hullabaloo. Then Ron Paul wins, and they're like, "you know what I just realized? CPAC sucks."

It's almost laughable how quickly the establishment was able to turn off the importance of CPAC.

That would mean the beginning of the death of CPAC. If the establishment won't show because they're scared of us and the Paulites won't show because Ron won't be there (no offense Rand but only Ron can get me to spend that kind of loot to attend) then who exactly will be there other than the speakers? The aides and supporters paid to show up and that's it. They can put on a show all they like but their receipts will take a major hit.

The Gold Standard said:
Rand will give them a rousing speech calling for the blood of Iranian children and the sheep will raise him up on their shoulders.

That's the strangest thing I've read all day.

Actually, I think it is a worthwhile strategy in the future if we don't start getting more liberty candidates into office.

We should lie to voters and tell them we promise to wipe out the middle eastern people and then once we're safe in office, we don't do what we promised.

Voters don't seem to care what happens once a politician makes it into office.

Every other politician lies about peace and freedom and then changes their minds once they're in office.

Let's lie and promise people slavery and war and then "change our minds" once we're in office. ;)

We demand lie detector tests and snooping through all papers and electronic media to detect secret Muslim converts. If you're not a terrorist, what have you got to hide!?

Supporters should follow suit and not bother going

Take a trip to an early state instead

I've been in an early state for ages, worked my butt off, then got lumped in with the rest of my early state and told how much of an idiot I am.

I think I'll go to CPAC anyways.

Will Ron be on the ballot?

That would be great if he could skip it and still win it.

It would make for good way to send the establishment the NOBP message by writing him in if he is not on the CPAC ballot. If he is on the ballot, then we still of course vote for him.
