Short end of the stick or not, Paul was ON tonight and I can't help but believe he has won over a lot of fiscal conservatives out there who couldn't believe they were FINALLY hearing somebody talk about what makes sense again. He even explained a little bit about tapering off social security and other things in a way that is accessible to the people who it'll affect most (those of us in the post-GenX population).

I know that I had my energy and support primed by these answers.

Thanks, MrChubbs -- now I just need to go find the rest of it so I can understand Paul's performance in context of everybody else.

Almost...he almost said it in the last part. What I've been waiting to hear is a paraphrase of something Reagan said in the 1980 campaign, "Did I leave the Republican party or did the Republican party leave me?"

Reagan, of course, was talking about how he used to be a Democrat and how the Democratic party changed its principles.
