Adam Putnam, Congressman from District 12, is relinquishing his position as chairman of the House Republican Conference.

This position is charge of shaping political strategy and direction for the Republican Party. We should heavily lobby Congress to get Ron Paul in that position. We need to stress that Ron Paul is the only guy who knows how to make the GOP competitive with the younger demographics that carried the Dems to total victory.

But we might get a more organized controlled-effort if we get CFL to start getting its base to hit up Congress with this desire.

Having him shape the direction of the GOP in the House would be huge to remaking the Republican Party in our image.

Ron Paul for minority leader!

I want to see a press release soon saying Paul is running for some leadership position.

Right now, Ron Paul has the most political capital and leverage to wield in the future of the Republican Party he so urges us to change.

If his team doesn't use this time to demand more leadership in the GOP, then we will seriously miss the boat on reforming this party.

Because there's plenty of Palins, Huckabees, Romneys, and the like ready to shape its direction.

Anyone know if the GOP big dawgs meeting tomorrow in DC have even extended an invite to Ron?

They're meeting to discuss the future of the party and strategy.

If they do NOT invite Ron, I will actively campaign and send money to dems just to spite the bastards.

But that's just me....

:D

Is Ron REALLY that popular in the House, and among the current GOP House leadership? :D

If they're politically shrewd they'd do this just to try to grab the libertarians back into the fold for an election comeback.

They don't want/need the libertarians. They're just trouble for the GOP.<IMHO> Imagine that, they actually want a SMALLER government, what a bunch of loons.

This is a great chance for Dr. Paul and the liberty movement.

But I don't hold out much hope...

As great as his political vision and heart is, Dr. Paul is not practical or shrewd enough. I doubt he'll even try for these leadership positions. Instead he'll probably throw a press conference to endorse the Constituion Party candidate for VA gov in 2009.

I think he has a good chance from the angle that many of his colleagues were flocking to him and asking how do they raise 20 million in one day?

After this sobering fucking defeat?? Good luck. We couldnt get one congressman elected.

THIS SUCKS. I spent two years, thousands of dollars and endless labor for what??? Principle??

You think anybody is going to let Ron Paul get anymore power????

Fucksake wake up. We just took it in the ass. No vaseline and no spit.
