Ron Paul: "Chuck isn't on the ballot in Texas."

Chuck Baldwin is not on the ballot in NY. I am going to write-in Ron Paul. My son sent his absentee ballot with Ron Paul's name as write-in already.
In TN this TRULY is a wasted vote because write-in candidates are not counted unless they've submitted official paperwork which Ron has not.

If your state has the same law, then PLEASE vote 3rd party instead!!!

Is that one of the places where the American something Party split off from the Constitution Party?

Yep. American Independent Party. Alan Keyes is their official candidate, just to make things more confusing. Even better, most people registered as "American Independent" think that they registered "Independent". But in CA, if you are independent, you need to register as "Decline to State"...

Yep... My little brother just turned eighteen and registered. Got his card in the mail. And it said Affiliation: AI, and then I had to explain that.

So what is a Texan to do then? I was planning on voting for Chuck but this throws it out the window....

I thought Chuck was NOT on the ballot in PA - what gives? I'm having a hard time trying to decide whether to wrote in Ron or Chuck. Is Chuck really on the PA ballot after all? Or did he only declare a write-in candidacy?

This is what I have been able to piece together about PA's write-in rules:

In Pennsylvania, there is no procedure for being a write-in candidate. Therefore, technically Baldwin (or anyone else) can be a write-in candidate. However, PA is notorious for NOT counting write-in votes, and if they do tally the write-in votes, they do NOT report the results with the official election returns.

Also, remember that you are actually voting for electors. If you write-in only the name of the candidate, you are at most, only voting for 1 of 21 electors, the candidate themself. If the candidate is not a PA resident, that vote will be disqualified.

Here are the articles where I've obtained this information:

http://www.paballotaccess.org/2006_oct_writeins_letter.html

Note: I am not promoting or discouraging Baldwin as a write-in candidate in PA. I am just offering up some information, which I believe to be truthful. The decision is yours!

It would make sense to actually vote for someone that is on the ballot. Write-ins probably won't get counted (unless they are a serious contender). If you write in Ron Paul, you will never see that counted anywhere. Plus it rewards third Parties who have it together enough to get on the ballot in the first place...

I hope the 3rd parties break 10% this year!!!

Chuck isn't on the PA ballot

I don't think he's on in NJ. Nader is not the left wing jerk he is said to be. He has some dumb ideas, but is one of the few speaking out on Israel and is generally pro constitution.

i just got my absentee ballot and chuck isn't on it in ny :(

Listen up everybody whos saying Chuck isnt on there ballot. Unless you live in North Carolina; Oklahoma; or DC you can write him in if he doesnt appear on your ballot.

This sucks. I don't have any interest in voting for McCain, Obama, Nader, or Barr. I was planning on writing in Baldwin, but what's the point if they dont even count it?

He does look a little weird without his mustache. But that's just because I've only seen him with a mustache. It'd be like if Ron Paul started sporting a mustache (probably just asked for a picture there).
