Well, it was a joy to make. Took approximately 20 hours of work and 1000 christmas lights. We may make more of these, in varying sizes, and make them available to others.

How about a how to video to help spread these around? How do you get the light to stay inside the letters?

.

We will likely make another with a video. This first one was an experiment from which I definitely learned a few things.

You need a material that is flexible. We found foam material boards at home depot that were perfect. Very light. And because foam is very flexible, you can drill holes smaller than the lights. Squeezing them in creates a firm grip.

man! u did an AWESOME job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go ron paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our next one will be even better: Straighter and more firmly held lights, detachable and adjustable-height stands, and collapsable!

EDIT: Sorry to disappoint -- they won't be adjustable-height. We felt the work necessary to allow this wasn't worth the gain. However, they will still be detachable and collapsable which means easy shipping and transportation.

my little christmas light project

You guys inspired me to do my own little one-hour project. We live in a home at a corner with a stop sign and just couldn't resist. I'm not a great photographer though, in case you didn't notice.:)

Great start!

We have a web site coming very soon, and we are looking to have an instructional video available within a week after so you could build one just like our (upcoming) design.

For those looking to buy a ready made sign, we've thought carefully about how to make this sign collapsable into 4 sections so that we can ship it in a reasonably sized box. I'm glad to say I believe we've succeeded and we will be shipping these things all over the country in no time. We want these everywhere!
