Ron Paul can't help but win the Republican nomination!

I did a little research, and found out that the last Republican president without military experience left office in 1933 (Herbert Hoover). Since then, the Republican Party has only chosen one person as their nominee who hadn't served in the military. That was Thomas Dewey, who was the nominee in 1944, and 1948.

This election, Ron Paul is the only person running who served in the military. If history is any indication, Ron Paul pretty much has no choice, but to win!

ron paul needs to mention during a debate that he is the only man onstage who has served in the military.

the only one who wants to bring our troops home... and the only one who has served in the military. oh the irony.

No irony.

Just a clear indication that he's the only one who takes these things seriously.

Excellent talking point! I have been pushing Paul's military service record with people, especially veterans. With him being the only one in this race who has served, that's an extra plus. This makes the point ten times stronger, thank you for your research into this!

I think when a thread like this is started, it should have a quick reminder of branch/tours.
From Wikipedia: "He then went on to serve as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1965 and then the United States Air National Guard from 1965 to 1968."

Ron Paul can win BUT (and I hate to be a debbie-downer, but I've been noticing this lately) his supporters have to stop arguing politics among themselves and others and GET ORGANIZED!

There's nothing wrong with political discussion. In fact it's great, but not when the campaign is going on. We need to get our priorities straight, and stop wasting time discussing philosophy. We need to focus on getting RP elected. Putting up fliers in your town. Signing up on rp2012.org AND ACTUALLY MAKING CALLS!

RPF shouldn't be about how you feel about gun rights. It should be a place where we put up projects, help each other out, motivate each other, and get Ron Paul elected. Like I said, there is no excuse for RP losing Ames. At the rate we're going, we will get about 2 votes for RP every week till august. We need to step it up, and get stuff done!

And thanks for the point. I will put it on my posters, and share with potential veteran supporters. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

You're right. But there's a difference between discussing deep libertarian philosophy and discussing how to spin stuff. And I'm going right on discussing how to spin stuff.

Sorry to be the downer here but I believe that I read somewhere that Herman Cain was in the military.... Not only that but George W. Bush went AWOL and then was a deserter from the military so I am not sure that this counts....
