This report brought to you by the North Virginia Patriots Show!

Reports are coming in that Pennsylvania is not getting any help from the campaign. This is kind of disconcerting because PA is a state who's delegates are not bound. As in all of them could go to the convention and vote for whomever they choose. On the Ron Paul worldwide meetup group message board Steve Martin who has been deeply involved in the grassroots part of the campaign said the following:

"I wish there was something that anyone could do. I have been highly critical of the official campaign HQ, and they certainly aren't going to listen to me.

You will notice that they always kept $5 million in the bank, even when we had $32 million to spend. I am hearing it was always the plan to use the "leftover funds" to fund the Liberty PAC, so I wouldn't be expecting much help from Kent Snyder & Company. IMHO, we've been suckered."

When another member of the message board suggested that Ron Paul can only use the funds for his Presidential campaign Steve further elaborated:

"No. My understanding is that "leftover" funds can be given to charities (501c3s) or even PACS. They can not go to the candidate's personal use, or to other campaigns the candidate may be involved in (i.e. his future Congressional re-election funds.)"

There have been questions from Ron Paul supporters as to where the money was going. It seems we may have an answer now. I called the Campaign HQ today and they informed me that there is a radio ad being recorded for PA, and when I informed them that some supporters are wondering where their money is going. The person who answered the call stated that the lack of funding was a result of the campaign "winding down" as Ron Paul had stated that it would.

It looks like whatever efforts are to be made to get delegates in PA that are all unbound and free to vote for whomever they please will require a lot of effort from the people in PA. I hope they can get those delegates for Ron Paul.

We're working on it.

And as far as I can tell, this report is correct. There seems to be very little, if any, funding from HQ for the Pennsylvania primary.

Pennsylvanians are trying to raise $15k to print sample ballots to publicize their RP delegate candidates. If you'd like to help send RP delegates to the convention, read this thread and donate.

Or just go donate: http://www.cpalpac.com/home/donate.htm

You don't have to be from PA to help.

It's been no secret that the campaign had no plans whatsoever of paying for efforts to try to win votes or delegates in the remaining states.

We've known for months that if you're in a remaining state and you want to see ads letting your friends and neighbors know that it's ok to vote for Ron Paul then you need to contribute to grassroots efforts. We here in NC are getting zero help in organizing our delegates (my district convention is Saturday and I haven't heard a word from the Paul campaign).

Suck it up people. It's up to you.

About all that Dr. Paul will do before convention, is make occasional campaign stops. It's a word-of-mouth thing now.

We spent a lot of time bashing how the official HQ did it's advertising last winter... "He's catching on" and all that... So now we got what we "wanted". The r3volution is truly ours, for better or worse.

maybe the first order of the PA revolution should be to take back the funds that belong to it?? I donated money for RP Presidential run, not the Liberty PAC

We've had to go to other states to even get leftover signs.... :(

Horrible idea to be new to the forums and ask for donations. ;)

I agree, the Natl campaign should pony up and if they were this thread would not exist :)

Here in PA delegates are blind and unbound so we need every one, most people don't have clue that our primary is blind and unbound- you won't find that fact on the GOP websites or in local media anywhere.

We have the potential to more than double the amount of delegates that RP currently has and you would think that would garner more support than it has.

Contact the official campaign and ask for Debbie Hopper.

She's the person I've been working with in South Dakota.

Explain to them that you're upset about it not being used for the campaign.

This is spot on. Pennsylvania is key to garnering influence at the convention.

Just because someone doesn't have over 1000 posts doesn't make them "new" to the forums. If you'd check the dates on the joins, they've been here in some cases since July '07.

Some of us lurk more than speak :)

The official campaign does definitely lack the same enthusiasm as the grassroots. If any of you are near the WV border, my husband and I have materials and signs which we'd be willing to part with. Please let me know if we can help you out.

Does anyone know how much money is actually left in the campaign's war-chest? I have to admit to being pretty salty about how the campaign was run and the fact they never brought in the pros...that's the only reason my wife and I donated the full $4600, so that they could hire the right people to have a real shot. I guess the campaign really never intended to make a real go for it. Oh well, c'est la vie.
