Dear Friend:

You know that I don’t mince words and I don’t back down in fighting a federal government that has far exceeded the confines of our Constitution. I could use some help in the House, and that¹s why I’m asking you to support my friend Tom McClintock.

You may remember when he stood up to the liberal Republican establishment in California and took on Arnold Schwarzenegger during the recall election in 2003. This guy will stand and fight, and we need him in the Congress. Tom has said that he expects our federal government to protect our borders and to preserve our individual freedoms as Americans. And beyond that, he wants it out of our pockets, away from our families and out of our faces. That¹s my kind of candidate.

He’s facing the Daily Kos and DCCC fundraising machine, and he’ll need our financial help on his side.

Now the federal government has continued to challenge the law, does not seem to recognize it. Do you support or oppose the use of medical marijuana and would you continue to support that proposition?

McCLINTOCK: the people of California spoke clearly on that subject. The federal government has no right to intervene.

He endorsed RP early on, realized he was going nowhere fast, and so he unhitched his political star and hitched it on to the safe bet. You have to remember that McClintock has always been big among California conservatives, just not big enough to get a pass for being a Paulite who lost. If he was a Paulite who was on the winning side, he could have prospered even more.

As far as the war goes, he doesn't mention anything but he wants a strong defense. I think that means "I'm not going to upset the establishment by speaking against until I have the political means to do so."

I remember him from the California Recall election when he ran for Governor, finished third place. I seem to remember that lots more would've voted for him if they thought he had a chance of winning. He received 70% approval on exit polls.

Considering that Tom didn't endorse Dr. Paul, I'd say that Paul is really being the bigger man here. I'll donate some once my paycheck comes in.

From what I've learned over the years, Tom McClintock is super fiscally conservative. He really had a hard time in California with all the Liberals here. He's not a neocon from what I've seen.

McClintock is DEFINITELY pro-war, I don't know why Paul considers him a friend, he's a TRAITOR as far as I'm concerned

we should all call his office and say he owes Paul a BIG THANK YOU (and/or an apology).

My honest opinion is that he is running a traditional campaign and will probably win either way... I'm just saying if you have little money left or want to help BJ Lawson instead... don't feel bad. I, for example, don't feel the need to donate to Tom.
