Ron Paul Blimp Questions??? I have answers.

I applaud Trevor and Elijah for working and struggling with the many complications and conflicts that have arisen here in the grassroots. I think it is incredibly telling that they would cut their salaries to accommodate the grassroots. It suggests a lot.

***thumbs up to them***

:)

so now they can do it for half price.... hmmmmm

I don't see you coming up with an alternative plan so I am backing them. All you do is criticize and complain talking about how you could handle this better. Well show us your plan then!

FYI, people in PAC's have a salary as well and they pay much more.

I think they are doing what they can to accommodate the grassroots.

Sorry if this has already been asked; perhaps it would be a good FAQ question: How big is the blimp? Are there any pictures of the blimp (painted or not) next to something else everyone would recognize to give perspective on the size?

I would really like an answer to this man's question:

Obviously people aren't donating with the intent of a return on investment besides getting Ron Paul elected, but if in fact there is profit to be had later on and this turns into a real business, perhaps the success should be shared. Just an idea

This is a key point. You are asking people to become venture capitalists instead of donors or customers. It is only right that they would share in the wealth seeing as the company would not exist without their hard earned $$$

interesting perspective, and perhaps this could be taken under consideration.

maybe after a set dollar amount this comes into affect?

No we aren't investing, we are are renting advertising space per minute and not purchasing stocks or shares in the company.IMO

.

Will there be an official Blimp logo? If so, will that logo be made available free-of-charge for any other grassroots operation, for example, posters, teeshirts, bumper stickers, coffee mugs, etc.

I think a yes answer to both of these is pretty important to spread this through the grass roots.

No they're not. They're giving us an opportunity to rent a blimp at cost (including meager salaries, but no profit). We're not investors, we're customers.

Honestly, you think they want us as owners after the shitstorm we put them through? Why are you all still trying to derail this? Hasn't this insanity gone on long enough?

We're getting a fucking blimp! Be happy for fuck's sake. Don't donate, just watch and smile. Please.

Can we have receipt indicating our time slot has been spent from what time to what time. And the video footage so we can verify that the blimp is indeed on air at that time ?

That's simply not the case. An LLC was specifically formed based on the promise of funds, without which, the company would not be formed. This makes the 'donors' actual investors.

And I'm sorry but don't pass this off as "meager salaries but no profit". That simply isn't the case. Based on the words of Katherine they are forming a company with the hopes of future revenue beyond that of a 1-month blimp drive. And tell the people living off of much less that $1k/week or even $500/week all expenses paid is meager. You can maybe sell that to Congress but not me.

I would still like an answer to the question or at least justification from them on why the idea of considering people giving money as investors rather than customers isn't feasible.

Jerry Collette - Paralegal and Manager
$500/week
Joe Amidon - Assistant Manager
$1,000/week

Do we really need Assistant Manager ? Especially when he earns more than the manager.

Brad Smith - Former FEC chairman and one of the leading election lawyers in the country.

$10,000 retainer
$500 hour

What's retainer ? Do we need to paid upfront ?
$500 hour ? I think hiring Bill Clinton is cheaper.

Do you haven any plans on selling merchandise?

I want one of those "Ron Paul Airforce" hats and T-shirt and maybe one of those official fleece jackets :D

You could use the money from selling stuff like that to help support the staff and let the advertising dollars go more directly to the blimp.

A retainer is something to keep him ready to work for the project. And Bill Clinton charges thousands per speech.

Those are pretty high numbers. My lawyer is only $150 an hour. The retainer seems high. The $500 an hour for the lawyer was the final straw for me against this project.

From MillerJD:
Time to pull out the old FAR/AIM that blesses us pilots....
FAR 91.15; "Dropping Objects. No pilot in command of a civil aircraft may allow any object to be dropped from that aircraft in flight that creates a hazard to persons or property. However, this section does not prohibit the dropping of any object if reasonable precautions are taken to avoid injury or damage to persons or property."

The main reason for this rule is to allow flour bombing, which is a tradition at flying events and not having to contact the FAA to get permission every time you organize an event. Another reason is newspapers are still delivered to remote areas by dropping it from a plane.

It's a subjective phrase though, so you have to be careful on how you conduct it. But if someone got hurt and you took reasonable precautions and something happened, you might be able to squeeze out of it, if it was someone on the ground being stupid.
