RON PAUL BLIMP 2 and future creative ideas

not enough to convince me since the blimp paid for itself and more ! try paying for all the press coverage and tv time the ron paul blimp got and opened eyes to ron paul. that figure easily surpasses what the blimp cost but since you havent bothered to research mini blimp they are crew less and do not cost as much and are effective!! just look at every car dealer and fairs and you already see them!! mini blimps wpuld pay for themselves the first event!!

I disagree that the blimp paid for itself since it didn't get much coverage and probably made an impression on even less people, which a commercial would. Mini-blimps, however, could work. They are a lot less expensive and can reach a lot of people. More so than an actual blimp.

The blimp did not ever pay for itself, that's farcical nonsense.

add up all the media time that covered the blimp and it is not nonsense!!

if i remember right, it was covered everywhere it went from local radio, local papers, local tv,national tv and was on national tv several times! add up what that would cost in media if you were buying that coverage and it pays for itself!!! I do know it was covered everywhere it went even when it did not get off the ground it had coverage!!! It also had many untold advantages as folks did see the blimp or news coverage and either got involved or donated !!

marketing has many angles!! if you want total figures research it yourself but i remember it got plenty of coverage and just adding up what i saw would of cost a huge chunk!! The marketing of the blimp got coverage!!

Kenny, will you at least agree with the statement that SOME mistakes were made during 07-08, and we should not repeat those mistakes this time around?

i can admit to that, but that doesn't mean the blimp was a mistake. It was run by a private company and people were not forced to donate!! The blimp was not a failure i can say that!!

this is why i have suggested more practical blimps like these but the folks trying to trash the blimp should go somewhere else or write the blimp company to get their money back!! http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showth...-for-the-blimp-haters-)&p=3293058#post3293058

bottom line if folks didn't contribute to the blimp? they really should have nothing to say about it unless they were forced to donate!! If they did donate to it and are that mad, maybe they have a beef with the company not the blimp! If that is the case they have the mini blimps;)http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showth...Paul-s-Air-Defense!!!!!&highlight=mini+blimps

Apparently some people in Mexico were brainstorming on what to do about the Guerra de las drogas and they came up with these ideas so far:
- get 10s of thousands of people to march in the streets
- create a drug war wall, like the Viet Nam war wall in D.C.

The had 90,000 people march last week in Mexico City:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...s-2281626.html

I think we should send Ron Paul to Mexico and we should follow him for these weekend street protests. And then we should start our own street protests in the US. In the US our protest signs should be 2 liners where the first line (in Spanish to highlight the 35,000+ Mexican drug war deaths) say "No Mas Guerra de las Drogas" and then variations will have 2nd lines that say:

"Less Taxes for Cops"

"Less Taxes for Prisons"

"Less Taxes for Prison Guards"

"Less Taxes for Govt Employee Unions"

"Less Taxes for Border Guards"

"Less Taxes for Checkpoints"

"Less Taxes for the Military"

"Less Taxes for Murder"

etc.

If Arabs and now Mexicans can protest in the streets, why not have Ron Paul lead us to join in just across the border in the blood drenched streets of Mexico. We will be able to get lots of support from our lefty friends and we won't have to worry about 90% of the Tea Partiers stinking things up. And we should fly Peace & Sound Money and No Mas Guerra de las Drogas blimps with Ron Paul's stenciled profile on the nosecones too.

You guys have to remember that most "conservatives" will view this as a "Liberal move" (and would cost us votes), so we should at least wait until the general election.

Threads like these destroy any hope I have for Ron Paul actually getting the Republican nomination.

While some of these things are fun and will undoubtedly expose Ron Paul to a few extra people, most are a colossal waste of time and have little effect on the direction of this country.

The boring stuff is what wins. Do you think the neoconservatives and the progressive left are winning by flying blimps and launching submarines?

Shhh... truth is treason in an empire of lies...

do you think i might of actually investigated ron paul if i hadn't seen his sign?? maybe not. do your think while some create soft sells so you can do your thing it might help open some doors to folks who might not of looked into him until they saw a sign bumper sticker balloon or marketing club card? If you see no benefit in this do not worry do not donate but i do see benefit in this so i will!! my life was far better off until i heard of ron paul and got involved if only that person had not put the sign up so i would wonder who he was!! i think you under estimate the power of signs and balloons and their impact as a soft sell!!

i am giving these as options . they could always rent a blimp again and make you even happier if you like!! i think your overreacting!!

Yet - we did not win. What part of that are you not understanding?

I didn't discount the fact that those things undoubtedly expose Ron Paul to a few extra people, especially when Paul was largely unknown, but this is now 2011. Ron Paul now has over 70% name recognition, and these gimmicks waste our precious treasure. For that reason, I will continue to voice my opinion on the misdirection of our limited resources.

Victory in 2012 is achievable, but not if we continue the same failed strategies of yesteryear.
