DALLAS—Republican Ron Paul didn't get many votes for president in his home state, but he easily won the primary night nomination for his congressional seat.
Paul—an Internet sensation in his presidential bid—easily defeated local Councilman Chris Peden in the Houston-area District 14 on Tuesday night.

Paul, a 10-term congressman, only drew single-digit votes for president.

Guess I'll be moving to District 14 soon! =)

I am very disappointed in Ohioans. We are feeling this economic crunch badly and people are still voting for the ones that have no *REAL* solutions.

They call him the internet sensation...

... why aren't people getting on the internet to see what the fuss is about?

Good point, and I have Harped on this as well. The cause of this is because the vast majority believed FOX when it told everyone that only KOOKS online are supporting Paul, rather then FOX saying, "The informed intelligent minority online supports Paul".

So welcome to propaganda.

Ditto.

mccain has only won one huge district...we will be closing the gap as more returns come in. The rest of the state is voting for paul in a landslide, and i'm sure we'll have some sleeper agents. :D

this is exactly why I am here... They said something about him being really big online, then I wondered why so I googled RP and got addicted to his youtube videos, and through the comments section on youtube I learned of the Nov. 5th money bomb... so I donated... then shortly after that I found the forums..

I suspect that the majority of voters are not internet savy yet. Baby boomers for the most part do not go on the internet except to check their MS outlook emails and to pay a bill or two if that. And the Obama supporters are the party all night I dont want to think for myself types which only get on the internet for porn and AIM and maybe ebay, and online dating.

Americans aren't actually worried about the economy. If they were, they'd vote for someone who actually had a plan for prosperity.

thanks for this good news about his congressional seat, at least my calls to texas may have been useful.
i don't get it about the degree of control of the Old Media has over people who failed to vote for him so he will get the presidential nomination, though, since everyone i've talked to seem to want to vote fo him. something odd.

I think Ron won because Peden's 13 yo son has monster lamb chops and a big ass mustashe in their family photo.

Great News!

Now that RP's district is "signed, sealed, and delivered", just watch:

We're now on to a TWO-MAN race! Hold on to your hats, folks! This is what we've been waiting for! I suspect that RP has been strategizing for just such a moment...

NOW is the time- if you have room left to contribute, or have family/friends that can- what better time than NOW?!?

Show all the MSM- and more importantly- the undecided voters and potential delegates- that RP is alive and WE MEAN BUSINESS!!

We're writing American history, folks. What do you want this page to say??

That we drop kicked the neo cons into the middle of the 24th century..............seriously I want it to say Ron Paul won the Presidency after so much time of being ignored and that it was done by going back to grassroots politics.

I think Paul has like $6-$8 million left in the presidential campaign...

Of course, he's still got the same campaign staff, so I wouln't get your hopes up.

... and if you don't agree with that statement then GO HERE and hit the donate button. Ron Paul has said over and over that he'd stay in it as long as the support and money remained. The money hasn't been rolling in lately so it's time for all of you positive thinkers on this forum to show him that you're still supporting him and his campaign staff.
