NOTE:
If you have a question for Friday's guest, please tweet us using #PaulOnPMT or post it on the "Piers Morgan Tonight" Facebook page, and Ron Paul may answer it on Friday's show!

good time to ask the 'does your plan to balance the budget in 3 years cut social security" (no) and "What would you have done if you were President on 9/11 in terms of going after the terrorists"

And given Piers' typical audience and the fact that MAINE caucuses are also this weekend and independents can register GOP to vote right at the caucus, questions about NDAA and the Patriot Act would be great too, imho

My question.

Dear Dr. Paul. One of your opponents, Rick Santorum, recently said during a stump speech that he does NOT believe Iran wants a nuclear weapon to bomb Israel with, but that they want it for their own protection. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRW30b_51KY&feature=player_embedded I know you don't like to speculate on what your opponents might be thinking, but doesn't his statement justify your position on Iran? And if Rick Santorum is right then what are your thoughts on how to get Iran to back away from this fear?

What should the federal government do to help out homeowners?

What would you have done with NDAA as President?

How will kids get an education without the Department of Education?

How will you prevent veterans from committing suicide?

Echo this please!

I like this one or some variation of it.

Do you know how many people think that RP wants to end public education when he says he wants to eliminate the Dept of Education?

Last time I passed out literature, more than a few had that concern.

send in questions where Ron is popular, such as do you support SOPA or ACTA? do you want mandatory national service? (David Brooks made a call for this again, using the Israel excuse)

I brought this up with Doug Wead during his Q&A the other day. See the link to the Pentagon Report.

Q: Doug, all of the warmongers reference the vague 13pg IAEA Report when discussing Iran's nuclear ambitions. How come you, the Campaign, or Dr. Paul don't counter or bring attention to this April 2010 Pentagon Report?

Doug Wead: Author, Speaker, Presidential Historian well, i have seen that and tried to get it in. you don't have much time on tv and when you even get close to foreign policy they go to break.

I don't have twitter, but getting him to clarify the gold standard issue would be good. A lot of people think he's crazy for that.

"Do you believe in mandating a gold standard, or do you believe that we should just repeal legal tender laws and let people choose what they want to use as money?" Or something along those lines.

Oh wow! I didn't know about this report! From your link:

The Iran question is often posed, as it was in last week's debate to Ron Paul, as a hypothetical. If Iran was proven to have a nuclear weapon what steps would be taken by the US to assure they did not attack Israel? The establishment media is skillful in the presentation and structure of the debate. The question assumes it is the responsibility of the US to protect Israel from a strike by Iran. But more importantly it assumes that Iran has the ability and strategic desire to attack Israel.

This unclassified assessment of Iran's military capability by the US Department of Defense clearly states that "To ensure regime survival, Iran's security strategy is based first on deterring an attack."

The document goes on to make this key statement, "Iran's nuclear program and its willingness to keep open the possibility of developing nuclear weapons is a central part of its deterrent strategy."

But what if the unpredictable Ahmadinejad and company in Tehran suddenly changed their strategy and decided to go on the offensive? Fortunately they would not have the capability according to the DoD which states, "At present Iran's forces are sufficent to deter or defend against conventional threats from Iran's weaker neighbors such as post-war Iraq, the GCC, Azerbaijan or Afghanistan but lack the air power and logistical ability to power much beyond Iran's boarders or to confront regional powers such as Turkey or Israel."

Stated simply Iran wants to obtain the necessary weapons to defend itself in a bad neighborhood where it finds itself surrounded by a global superpower.

The campaign is making a mistake if they're waiting for a chance to talk about it in an interview. This should become part of Ron Paul's "elevator speech" (30 second talking point) on Iran. Everytime Iran in brought up he should just say The 2010 Pentagon Report says that if Iran is trying to get a nuclear weapon it is because they feel they need it to deter an attack. Rick Santorum acknowledged this on a stump speech. So we need to quit making Iran fearful of violent overthrow of their government.

Don't get too deep with the questions. It will go over most voters heads. Stay focused, imho, on questions that people can understand and appreciate.

someone brought up "no taxes on tips" and "no income tax" and "do you think people can spend their own money better than the federal government" etc..

Mine:

"Congressman Paul, without going into too much detail, please explain your first four steps in securing our southern border. You bring home the troops, we get that. What will be your ultimate strategy to safeguard our nations borders ?"

"Will you run as a third party candidate?"

"Did you write those racist newsletters?"

"How dare you abandon Israel!?"

"Congressman Paul, why do you hate America and want Americans to die at the hands of al-Qaeda?"

"Dr Paul, as you know Obama won in 2008 by attracting Independent voters and crossover voters. So far in this primary you have gotten a large number of Independent voter's support and perhaps the you're the only candidate to get many votes from Democrats. Will you be able to keep this broad demographic in a general election, and does that make you, in terms of energetic support, the Change candidate of the 2012 election?"
