Huge hat tip to RPF member Lafayette for this:

So i remember last election Dr. Paul had more military donations then all candidates combined ( both R's and D's)

So ran through the numbers on FEC site http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2011/Q2/
I based these numbers off the employer section. Anyone who described their employer as military.
Army, Navy ,Air Force, National Guard ,Costa Guard, Marine Corps and Dept of Defense.

An this is what i have come up with so far.

*Now these numbers are not 100% accurate, i may have missed one here or there. *

Cain $6223
Romney $4350
Bachmann $2550
Newt $1025
Pawnlety $250
Santorum $250
Johnson $0

Total $14648.00

The Good Doctor comes in more than double all the other Republican candidates combined.

Paul $ 31822.21

Add in Obama's total of $14849.00 to the others ($29497.00) and Ron still beats em! :D

Sweet!

Crossposted for the neocons on my other board!

A big thank you to Lafayette and to you AF!!

:D

We need to spread this far and wide. If a mainstream article picks up on that, we can Drudge Bomb it, and then who knows how far it spreads from there.

ETA - A Tweet that we could retweet would be great too. "Rep. Ron Paul earned more donations from active and retired military members than all other GOP candidates PLUS President Obama COMBINED! for the 2nd Quarter".

LOL at Johnson

It is even more embarrassing for Santorum and Pawlenty I think, because they are considered "serious" candidates.

I bet Rush Limbaugh, Hugh Hewitt, Neil Boortz, Michael Medved, Bill Bennett and Mike Gallagher (talking radio-head neocons) will be pissed.

I hope next week someone calls them to let them know the good news.*

*Should this be Drudged?

No, they will just refuse to report it. "not newsworthy" they will say. They just don't realize yet that their opinions are becoming irrelevant...

Drudge would get a real kick out of that one. :D

It's pretty sad that Cain and the like are getting more donations from the military than GJ. I bought into the idea of having Ron and GJ on the stage after that first debate, and it's been all downhill from there. If he doesn't get in the next televised debate, it's time to run for Senate.

that was too long, here's the tweet I sent out. an even shorter message with a tinyurl or bit.ly link to the source would be even better

Seriously, twitter will help people like us explain the message. Brevity is the soul of wit lol. in Twitter, you can only talk in soundbites.

I'm getting more like $43,739.95, but that's including things like VA Hospital, Reserves, and DoDDS.

An extra bit of information: the unemployed donated $10,694.27 to Ron Paul's campaign.
