Updating views on tens of thousands of new videos in real time would overload servers. It only updates in real time for youtube partners. There is no conspiracy.

It ALWAYS does this. YouTube is not censoring Ron Paul. Too many people are jumping to conspiracy charges. I've counted hundreds of comments in that vein on the video.

With a heavily invested website like youtube, owned by GOOGLE, it would not overload servers to update something as simple as views. I'm not buying that.

There are thousands of videos uploaded to YouTube every minute. Most videos only get a few views, so the servers are able to handle 99.9% of the videos that are uploaded. However, when a video is uploaded and instantly goes viral, such as this, the servers have a hard time handling traffic for a video that wasn't expected to get so many views so quickly.

This is correct. It isn't a conspiracy, it is typical Youtube procedure. They wait to update view counts to avoid spam on videos that get a lot of views from only a few sources. They have a system that makes sure that the views are legit and then updates. At least that's how I understand it. It has been this way for a while.
