RON Paul 2016 vs. Romney (Wead)

Why wouldn't he run as an Independent this year if he was thinking about trying to primary Romney in 2016. He would have more of a chance running as an Independent now, than as a R in '16 under that scenario.

Because running independent now would require money, and if...IF he runs against Romney in 2016, it would be the two man race we wanted all along. It would be equal time in the debates and excite the nomination process.

A part of me wants to see Romney win just to see him squirm against Ron in 16.

I don't understand how anyone could see the polls or the economic situation and think that Romney doesn't have chance.

Watch this video and see if you still think that Romney stands a chance. No liberty-minded person would ever vote for someone with this much disregard and disdain for delegates of their own party. HE THREW OUT THE REPUBLICAN SUPPORT FROM THE LIBERTY CANDIDATES! It is not our fault that Obama is going to win. He has basically ensured, if he wins the election, that he will be able to unilaterally dismiss any grass-roots support that he disapproves of in 2016. He would also ensure that future R candidates could do the same. He MUST NOT be elected.

I don't think the third party number is any more useful if it isn't Ron, it is a vote for someone I don't want, and you have to look it up anyhow.

Wikipedia has it:

The following candidates (and/or parties) had ballot listing and/or write-in status in more than one state:[212]

  • Alan Keyes (America's Independent Party) received 47,768 votes; listed in three states: Colorado and Florida, plus California (listed as American Independent), and also had write-in status in Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, and Utah.
  • Ron Paul received 41,905 votes; listed in Louisiana (Louisiana Taxpayers) and in Montana (Constitution), with write-in status in California.
  • Róger Calero (Socialist Workers Party) received 7,561 votes; listed in ten states. He was listed by name in Delaware, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, and Vermont. James Harris was listed as his stand-in in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, and Washington, and also had write-in status in California.

If my math is correct, Obama/McCain got 98.6% of the vote. That number will be looked at especially in a close race.
