If Ron Paul DOES announce a run at the end of this year, we need to have some ideas planned in advance for Ames. The bottom line is, it needs to be HUGE. We need to take over that town the weekend of the straw poll.

How about an Ames Money Bomb: "Ron Paul Ames for Freedom" or "Ame for Liberty".

Each person could pledge to give a denomination of 1776: $17.76, $177.60 or $1776.00.

A money bomb to take of expenses in advance is a good idea.

But to be able to get people to come to Ames across Iowa on a Saturday afternoon, we need to build a campaign structure in all 99 Iowa counties through the winter of 2010-2011. Iowa activists can start that process right now by setting up a "Freedom" campaign committee, a PAC that will support Freedom candidates across the state this fall and serve as the foundation for the Iowa Paul organization starting in the winter.

Every hotel room in Ames should be booked and filled with Ron Paul supporters months in advance.

A majority of Iowans that vote in the straw poll may not spend the night in Ames . . .

It is a bussed event. It is about getting Iowa residents to Ames to cast their vote.

Booking charter buses may make more sense.

Those Iowans involved in local Tea Party Groups ought to stage a Tea Party at the Straw Poll to boost Ron Paul's performance.

Haha. I remember the days of how Romney would bus in his people by paying for their tickets and give them other perks, if they would just vote for him at the straw poll.
They actually had signed their name to it, like a contract.

Then the media would cover the event like it was legitimate poll, as if people made the trip out on their own dime, and voting for Romney was not like a bribe. I remember feeling pretty disillusioned with the process, considering how the winner of the straw poll will get millions in free media coverage, as well all of the momentum, and privelaged debate treatment.

Of course the whole thing was a sham, but now we can use this process to our advantage because nobody can spam a poll like us. Will Romney voters walk on broken glass to get there? The answer is no, but we will.

Well, I'll agree . . .

but the argument also goes that buses do require an effective organization and logistics . . .

Yes - we can do that.

He paid for my vote for Dr. Paul. I even got a sticker that said, "I voted for Mitt". What a guy.

Hah , , , yeah, I was all signed up for a Tancredo ticket . . .

which I could have picked up at their tables and used to not take up an RP ticket for someone else,
but I had volunteered for the GOP on Saturday at the event so had a free ticket and my vote for Ron Paul anyway.

Colleges should be the key. Sure, most kids are out of school for the summer, but the ones still at the campuses would love a free meal and some partying.
