Ron needs help in Texas... The smear campaign has started!

I thought maybe he needed money. He hasn't asked for any for himself, all year, just for Rand. He's running against some sheriff who got only about 2000 people out for the primary election run off..... however, that doesn't mean anything. Perry and White are running neck and neck in the polls, and if it stays that way until November, there will be unusual Dem turnout in Texas.

I would expect Dr. Paul to send out another fundraising letter before the general election. From what I heard, the one fundraising letter sent out during the primary netted about $200,000. He is doing just fine.

The sheriff shouldn't be a threat though. The electoral trends have Ron Paul entrenched in his district. Even though there is significant internal dissent within the Republican Party of the area to his representation, it won't be enough for most Republicans to stomach voting for a Democrat. I would assume he would also get some Democrats to cross-over, and he always dominates the independent vote.
