Laura,
I am a morning show listener out in San Diego and a younger "Goldwater" conservative (I don't know, is 30's still young?). I completely disagree with you on the war but still listen because I believe you have a lot of traditional conservative values in the middle of all the war policy. I don't want to go to much there but listen: those of us still fiscally, socially, and politically sane are jumping ship if the Republican party doesn't move back to it's roots. I'm hoping you'll come around and really look at causality with this war and all of the nonconservative hooh-hah they've been feeding us through media outlets for the past seven years.
Look, these guys spent 30 years after leaving the dixiecrats to get into office. They got in, got their 'new Pearl Harbor", and implemented their policies. The policies are broken and inept - and NOT paleocon. In my eyes supporting the troops involves both intellect and honesty. I love you because you support the mission but I can't stand that you support these policies.
Just had to explain my case there Laura, I'm a big fan but had to get that out I've held my tongue for too long!
So really I wanted to say THANK YOU for debating Paul today. He was at his best and you gave him a fair shot. A lot of us talk about you here in San Diego and a few of us even say we can get you back to our side once we get rid of the neocons. Lord help us I pray every day we can wake you and the rest of our now fauxcons up to what our real situation is.
Borrowing money from China to pay for wars not intellectually or morally correct. Terrorism is a tactic not a country ... and c'mon Laura, Marque and Reprisal authorizes blackwater for crying out loud!!
Hahaha okay okay anyways THANK YOU for having Paul on. He's my hero and I promise you if we do well there is a new generation of REAL conservatives coming on board! If not, there may be a libertarian revolution over the next five years. Either way we need to get this out of control congress back to it's constitutional responsibilities and get the government out of our health, wealth, education, and lives.
I love your show and I always try to catch you in the mornings! Please if you at least do not agree with us on how the "war on terror" should be handled make sure you stand strong for us Goldwaters! We need our fair shake and the Republican party needs a real base of support.
It's either that or twenty years of socialism ... and a bankrupt economy.
