If we're looking to do this peacefully, don't we have to get supportive people into the establishment to dismantle it?

Liberty people's livelihoods would then depend on being part of that Establishment and sustaining it, not crushing it. When push comes to shove, do you think the Jesse Bentons of the world would give up their comfy lifestyles and nice houses to go back to making piddly amounts of money and being in debt? When Benton derides true believers as "anarchists dressed in black who want to stand on a hill and yell 'smash the state'," he's doing so because if those true believers got their way with government, Benton wouldn't have a job.

I thought there would be no Federal Reserve for Ron to Chair.

That's right. Appoint him Fed Chairman and he would dissolve it, take the literal chair, desk, branches, and everything related sold and the money put back into the Treasury where it belongs. Then he could take the next few years perhaps consulting at our mints. In charge of ideas for our new currency designs and denominations, working closely with the Treasury as well.

Ron Paul as VP, so he could be the real operator of a Rand administration, as Cheney was of the GW Bush regime. Putting him in as Fed chair would be an oxymoron---why put someone in charge of something he's opposed the existence of all his life?

Ron as Secretary of State would be electrifying, however, and would be the only Cabinet position that really makes sense for him under Rand, as it would finally end the neocon/establishment interventionist lock on US foreign policy for the last three decades.

It was a joke.

I know. There just aren't many people who ACTUALLY give up power for principle, and he is one. I was just making that point. Like Wead saying if Ron had the One Ring he'd actually throw it in Mount Doom.

Paul / Paul? We're trying to get rid of the "crazy" image. Making your dad your running mate does the opposite, lol.

Getting rid of a "crazy" stigma is going to be fairly difficult considering the standard of those who might qualify RP as crazy are often intellectually and/or morally bankrupt themselves.

Given the insanity inherent in the politics and culture of today, I actually consider the "crazy" stigma a compliment of sorts. If the insane claim you crazy, you must be doing something right.

Don't you already have to be on the Fed Board to be considered as a Chairman?

I could see Ron Paul being in charge of the WH tomato garden.

Retired. Obviously he would be a trusted informal adviser if Rand was president.
