I was watching a C-Span show, I think it was a Iowa Forum, with Romney. I only saw a few minutes, but he was talking very Conservative/Libertarian. He talked about shrinking the size of government, eliminating federal departments, and not having a national health care service. I think Ron Paul is already having an influence on the race and the issues discussed, because other candidates are trying to appeal to his base.

He likes to talk about small government, but he is lying. Check his record for yourself, he`s a big spending socialist. :)

He may be saying these things, but we already know how short his memory is.

I wish I could find the Daily Show clip where President Bush is having a debate with his former governor self about foriegn policy...it is the funniest Bush clip I have ever seen.

Keep a record of the things candidates promise. If RP doesn't make it to the top, the change in the demands of the people will be evident in what candidates promise to do for them. If they don't follow through, the people should be reminded.

Anybody remember that line "Read my lips; no new taxes."

Of course Romney is trying to change his image.

Huh?

I went and peeked at his record and he seems to have flip flopped a few times for sure. I also remember during the debates when he seemed awful pro war and now he is trying to change. In fact he was the one that said that Guantamo should be twice as large. He will be found out but he has a lot of money to spend.

He is lying. The guy pushed for socialized medicine in Massachusetts and also worked for increased gun control.

unfortunately for us, other politicians will probably start to steal things from Dr. Paul to keep supporters. The problem is that people are too stupid to realize that people like Romney, Clinton, Giuliani, etc will not live up to it, but just say it to gain voters.

Yes

Yes and if I remember right they were bragging how they used Federal monies to make it work. So the rest of the countries taxes subsidized it. Also if I remember right they passed the law forcing every citizen to have health insurance or be fined.

Is this like how he is a life long hunter? Romney rammed through a law that mandated every citizen of Massachussets obtain health insurance- is that not an obvious example that he is anything but a supporter of liberty? While it is advisable to have some form of health insurance, it is absolutely not the role of government to require it or set guidelines thereof.

He is on record praising gun control and Roe vs. Wade (he did take Dr. Paul's stance which is abortion is a state issue- Romney flatly promoted it).

Romney also is two people when it comes to the issue of the border. He claims he wants to get tough on illegal immigration, but then demands we dramatically increase visa issuance (changing very little in the equation). He is the apex of corporatist politician who seeks higher acclaim. Frankly, he frightens me given his ease of lying and thirst for greater power.

Not long ago I remember Romney saying something about he wanted to debate Ron Paul and forget the other losers. Like he was trying to say that he is just like Ron Paul or something. Romney is nothing like Ron Paul.

I wouldn't mind such a debate. That would make Ron Paul more of a big player, and give him more media coverage.

Agree

I agree and I am sure that Ron Paul would make Romney look like the douche he is. I am also sure Ron Paul would debate anyone anywhere and all of them as he has done. Doubt they would do it as theyknow that Ron Paul would be too strong. They want to try to start pushing him out not help him.

A good way to expose some of the candidates that only pay lip service long enough to get elected can be to figure out who owns them. Which PACs, corps or individuals?

AFAIK so far Romney's main contributors are wealthy Mormons and financiers. Who owns Romney and what is their agenda?
