Romney rejects Ron Paul-style budget

Romney is sort of acting like a illogical dumbass right now. Yes, by decreasing government spending financed by debt, you are decreasing payments to people for services...which will cause a decrease in wealth created. However, because it's DEFICIT spending, that deficit will HAVE to be paid back eventually, and the longer you hold off, the more compounded the interest will be on that payment, so the amount of wealth that will have to be "taken out" of the economy down the road will be greater than if we take it out today.

His exact argument is saying "let's not choose to cut spending with our credit card honey, otherwise we can't buy as many things".


I don't understand how he was able to run ANY business with such a low IQ business sense.

Romney wants to balance the budget by "2020?" LOL and can Romney actually tell us the last time the federal govt predicted anything right 8 years out? NEVER NEVER NEVER.

Federal spending is 24% of GDP today. He wants to bring it to 20%? The only way is to actually cut and we all know he offers ZERO cuts. Spending goes up under Romney every year and he adds $5 trillion to the national debt in 4 years.

Romney would rather spend money on wasteful government departments such as Education, FEMA (can't remember the list) that just get in the way.

Romney wants to pay more interest on more government debt, running trillion plus deficits ad infinitum.
Romney wants to maintain the anti competitive business environment instead of cutting petty rules and regulations (40,000 new rules were added Jan 1st)
Romney wants to continue the failed war on drugs and continue wasting $200bn a year that this costs.
Romney wants to continue with the number of hard drug users, instead of halving them, and maintain the level of street crime, gangs, violence and corruption of the drug trade.

I watched 10 seconds of that and wanted to strangle him. How can people be so brain dead to blindly applaud to what he was saying. All I heard was the same old rhetoric from every other politician. All talk with no actual solutions.

Truthfully Romney isn't wildly off base; he just doesn't tell the whole truth

He is the typical politician only worried about tomorrow, what the papers in the AM say, and his recent poll numbers.

Cutting 1 trill right away will certainly cause pain in the short term. The economy would shrink and jobs would certainly be lost. For a certain period of time that POTUS would not be popular at all. It would have the potential to be relatively brutal. However, over the medium term (heck even the short-medium term) and especially the long term the economy would heal and we will get back on track. That is what a politician should be thinking about. It should be about long term solutions, long term viability, and not short term poll numbers.
