Romney Lost Because of Ron Paul Supporters? Speculative But Possible

I think it was largely the failure of his campaign's GOTV. After reading about that big mess, that cost them a ton of votes.

I have to wonder though,is if some of that "big mess" was the result of their campaign being paranoid of RP supporters being in the GOP and not wanting to give people access to it until the last minute because of it.

It doesn't sound like it. They didn't test it ahead of time. So insanely ridiculous, I cannot believe Romney's machine didn't do it.

One thing is for certain: A republican will not be able to win in 2016 without the votes of the liberty movement. This is why Rand Paul is the GOP's only hope.

... The thing that hurts the GOP so much is their liberalness on social issues, trying to get the government to control people's lives in any way possible.

Yes, but most "conservatives" roll their eyes at that notion. That's the reality that needs to be imparted into their conscientious. --- this is where the argument between collectivism and individualism prevails. The good thing is that many of these conditioned conservative collectivists(Republicans) will agree with you: Individualism good - Collectivism bad. . ~ use it for what its worth to help clear up their thinking. Talking philosophy and not policy is one of my restaurant round table tactics (at truck stops).

Not possible!

First, CT margin was over 250,000.

Second, I bet half of RP primary voters voted for Romney. The other half stayed home, wrote in RP or voted GJ like me. I know 5 co-workers who voted for RP in the DE primary yet ALL voted for Romney.

Romney lost because 1) he was a fake 2) had no message 3) ran a shitty campaign which was evident as he received 2 million less votes than McCain of all people. Just because you BS talked nicely, smiled, and smirk after making a point doesn't win you the President's spot.
