Romney Leading in California Zogby Poll...Good for us?

Bad, I want McCain to win most everywhere Ron Paul doesn't (but not rack up enough delegates) so that the others drop out and come to us.

I think I would rather for Romney win California and have McCain win more of the other states. That way it levels McCain out a little. Keeps him from getting the majority and enhances the chance of a brokered convention.

If RP is not going to win outright, we want the field as evenly divided as possible.

California doesn't matter; it's divided by district. While there's a lot of people in CA who don't trust Mormons (I don't know why), there's also a lot of people who don't trust McCain. Figure Romney will win San Diego, Paul will win San Francisco, and McCain will win Sacramento. Paul will win the northwest coast and the high Sierra districts. Romney will win West LA, McCain will win East LA. The Central Valley, the greater Bay Area, the Inland Empire, and the northeast corner of the state are tossups. Paul could well take Silicon Valley. Hard to say who'll take Orange County; it used to be Giuliani territory.

Paul isn't going to win California. A new rasmussen's poll confirms Romney's surge in California as it has McCain and Romney tied at 38. A win in California is huge for Romney and devastating for McCain as he was leading big and got the governor's endorsement. With that said, McCain is still going to win the big winner take all states like N.Y., N.J., Arizona, Missouri, Connecticut. Romney needs to win a lot of the states that haven't been polled yet to remain close. He also has the lead in the latest Georgia poll and needs to win that state. Huckabee may win Arkansas and maybe Georgia or Tennessee, but I think he and Paul will drop out Tuesday night.

Schwarzenegger's endorsement will hurt more than help in CA.

Ron Paul is showing no indications of him dropping out, especially considering him talking about looking forward to a brokered convention. RP knew he was the underdog. Huckabee on the other hand, I would bet he does drop out of the race and endorse McCain.
