Romney 2016?

Choices are:

A) Fascists who are coming in prepared to continue to execute the plan that has crushed the country into dust;
B) Fascist who is going to do God knows what but is independent of category A fascists
C) do nothing/sit out/cast protest vote

This really isn't that complicated.

If you choose A and pretend to be a liberty person you are a fraud.

If you choose B you are choosing a strategic necessity, bitter pill though it may be.

If you choose C, then we don't need you in the conversation as you have chosen not to play a part in the event.

Sorry, YOU don't get to make the rules as to who get's to play or how they get to play. And honestly, at this point, since there is nobody that anyone that promotes Liberty should be promoting, but rather are strategically voting against something/someone else, then that would be....a protest vote.

Maybe he'll give a full-throated endorsement of Trump. That'd be a surefire way to end this thing.

I don't get this. Who the hell is Romney? No one cares what Romney has to say. Seriously, who gives a rip? Name someone. The reason no one cares is that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING he can say or do that will change anything.

What if Ron Paul made an announcement that he'd give a big announcement tomorrow?

This is totally media driven. Because of the push, lots of people suddenly do care. If anything does come out of it it's because his and the media's handlers pushed it.

That's why I quit taking these elections seriously years ago.

What's Romney got on Trump that Marco doesn't? Like pissing into a fan.

Romney won't enter- it is too late. Can't get into and win enough primaries to get the nomination. If he did get in, it would be another person to split the "anybody but Trump" voters and actually benefit Trump. Rubio and Cruz won't step aside to let him in either- they are both convinced that they are the best alternative to Trump.

He's a businessman also. I think that's the only advantageous angle.

Fair enough. I don't think this gay thing is going to do Rubio any favors trying to get the GOP nomination either. I just don't see any potential impact really.

If the Roger Stone/Infowars/Breitbart et al story from last week is true, he is entering the race as of later this month. The 3/3 speech just puts him in the campaign picture publicly, without him making the actual announcement. If the press prattled on about Biden for months, they'll certainly talk up Mitt for a few weeks. The point is not to win against Trump, but to be a "credibility replacement" for Cruz and Rubio as the "anti-Trump" in the race, and strong enough to deprive Trump of enough delegates to win the nomination.

Cruz and Rubio will almost certainly erase the rest of their credibilty March 15, when they lose the next round of Super Tuesday contests, especially Florida. Supposedly, Romney will have enough clout to swoop into the race, and register in time to campaign in enough delegate rich states to win states "the Cubans" will not be able to. Will this hold Trump to 1000 or 1100 delegates, enough to force a contested convention? Probably not, but on paper, it sounds plausible to the elite kingmakers.

Hell, it sounds plausible to me. If all of the delegates from the "suspended" campaigns give their delegates to the anti-Trump, Trump could easily be thwarted at the convention.

But, again. Is that what we want. Which way most benefits our movement going forward? Trump put down by the establishment (thus causing a populist backlash, which would probably dissipate because the sheeple want to defeat Hillary more than they care who is in office), or do we want Trump to take the nom, ruin the GOP for us in the future, and possibly win?

I honestly don't know the answer.

Let em burn. They made their beds.

I'll just repeat once more brushfire. Trump is growing the GOP, not burning it.

The true NeoCons are packing up to go back to the Dems. The sheeple of the GOP are converting to the Buchanan+LBJ'ism of Trump....and the Liberty Movement is being expelled.

Look at the rhetoric. They don't even pretend to care about the constitution or freedom anymore. They don't even give it lip service.

COULD WE BE MAKING OUR OWN BEDS BY THINKING THAT TRUMP IS GOOD FOR US.

Just think about it, what if the GOP is forevermore closed to our message. What if the Democrats go full socialist. Where does that leave us? With the Libertarians.....with the permanently unelectable Libertarians.

When you play with fire, sometimes you get burnt. I'm just afraid that supporting Trump is like dousing ourselves with gasoline before playing with fire.

To Romney's credit, I liked when he said that he believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman...and a woman.

If Trump wins and Sanders wins, someone like Bloomberg (representing finance capital) will muscle into the campaign and debates. That's the opening for the LP to get in the mix as well as an electable party. It may not be to late for you to get involved and help them to select their candidate.
