Yes inflation is bad, but that changes nothing. You work hard and save in inflation proof commodities.
It's not just inflation. The relationship between income and cost of housing is dramatically different now than it was in the past.
When you were born, homes cost - on average - four times annual household income. Now it's nearly eight times household income.
But that's household income
When you were born, only 45% of households were dual income. Now it's 61%.
It now takes twice as long to earn the money to buy a house assuming that you're married (and you're less likely to be married) and your spouse works.
If those two things aren't the case, the situation is even worse.
