RNC Committee on Arrangements attempting to block Paul Festival in Tampa

Florida is always under some water usage restrictions. That might get them in trouble.
Actually, August and September are our wetest months, as well as the most active for Hurricanes. But, yeah we very rarely get over 98*, its the humidity that makes it bad.

Won't the delegates be inside? Where it's likely air conditioned? And the delegates are there for a reason.

If they don't make it to the beaches at some point, they'll be missing out. Beaches are outside. Anyone who is not a delegate and comes for the convention will also be here for a reason. Really, people complaining about standing in heat... it's not that tough. Stay hydrated. A lot of people actually work outside. They do that in FL too. They even do it in August. A lot of them do it for $8-$9 an hour.

One way to cool poeple off is have fans blow water mist on everyone or water pressure will be enough, you have tiny little holes in hose pipes and it works really well for the heat. or you have cooling off zones where you can walk through a water mist path, they have them here in South Africa in some places.

The reason this venue was chosen is that there are inside facilities available. It's the fairgrounds. No one expects people to stand outside all day in that heat. Thanks, Deborah for the updates.

http://www.mistingpros.com/faq/ this website says it can work water misters

if you have no available under roof facilties then as they say in the Britsih Army, adapt or die. This is beter then nothing, you can create 20m long tunnels that people can walk through to get relief from the heat. and have a number of them around so people can walk through them and they do work.

freeze water bottles and have them up for sale, fight for these grounds, but have plan B

Haven't had too many 110 degree Augusts with 100+% humidity have you?

I lived in Tampa 4 years and in the summer it's typically 90-95. Only once in 4 years did it get to 99.

Do bring rain cover because around 3:00 PM on most days you get a stong rain, which refreshes everything.

well they can keep it to paths or cooling off zones, trust me its not that water intensive, its a very very fine mist and if they don't want to waste water they can buy proper pipes as opposed to home made pipes with some dude slashing away with a steak knife leading to fountains coming out.

It may not waste water, but it might also be illegal. It might not be - I don't know. But if I were planning this, I'd certainly check.

Yes, I lived there for 12 years, but that was 15 years ago too. When I was there, the water restrictions were rarely lefted during the rainy season, because it was the level of the water table that mattered. (I never really believed much of their stuff - I always figured it was just SwiftMud giving itself a reason to exist.)

Does the RNC fall under the scope of the freedom of information act? If so, maybe directing them to provide proof that another group is interested in the fairgrounds during the same dates would be a move in the right direction? Or is this not disputed?

PLAN B PLAN B PLAN B..... fight tooth and nail for the grounds, but have another ground available, if its outside its outside, patriots will have to toughen up. It doesn't have to be hell on earth, get fountains that recyle the water though so people can jump through it, misters, plenty cold water on sale. ADAPT OF DIE, they block, either go through them or around them, but this has to be seen through to the end even if you have tone deaf singers as your only act then so be it. Many people around the world on their internet screens (because there is a global Ron Paul blackout) will be cheering you guys on. I don't think you guys realize how big this is, you've got Spanish demonstrators on the streets talking about Ron Paul, German Ron Paul sign waves, poeple in South Africa, New Zealand, Australia know about Ron Paul. Many poeple in the UK know about Ron Paul, and you all are providing us with an education on what to do for our countries. The Uk has fallen, Europe has fallen (although the NWO are panicking about the potential Euro break up) and in many ways America fell way back, but the one difference is American citizens have not fallen, you guys still know what freedom is and they are trying to take it away from you. FIGHT DAM IT FIGHT!!!!!

We have you all in our prayers ;) I'm getting excited to be honest despite all the bad news, I really am get amped, can't wait for TAMPA.

We just had a big music festival here in Houston...it was in the 90s, but it was held in a large city park with a lot of water sprinklers available. We had close to 90,000 people show up over the 2 days with no incident except the occasional heat exhaustion and there were paramedics and ambulances on site. The thing is though that the city was on board with it because it brings in a lot of tax revenue from the vendors. The city of Tampa needs to be onboard with anything planned there.

Ya'll are crazy if you think FL is bad. Sure... Middle of June isn't the best time to walk around in Jeans and a dress shirt... Just do what the locals do... light clothes (color and weight) shorts, tee shirt and flip flops. Keep in mind, there are more people at the beach in FL during the summer than there is during the winter when all the snow birds are here. Tampa Bay is not Orlando. We stay cooler around the gulf and bay than the inland areas of the states.

I would rather tell you guys it's like a jungle in 'nam here to keep our streets clear of terrible northern drivers... but it really isn't that bad. People work outside here all day, go to the beach all day, and do out door activities all summer. 27 years in Tampa Bay Area and I'm yet to pass out because I walk outside. Just have a bottle of water on you if you will be in the heat for a long time.

You will find shade and A/C every where here. It's not a desert lol it's PARADISE that people come from all over the world to visit.

i think that since some of the boomers are now collecting social security but also like rockfests, we have to be sure they all don't dehydrate!
