Cops never think an innocent suspect is cooperating, no matter how much they are cooperating in reality.
They cooperate as hard as they can because they want the real killer caught. But that doesn't look like cooperation to someone trying to hang them. I started out thinking it perfectly plausible that Robinson did it, and was looking into who might have helped -- helped him do it, helped him arrive at the decision -- but after learning it takes a significant amount of time to break down a Mauser, after seeing footage, after not seeing footage that they obviously have and could show us, Robinson is starting to smell like a patsy to me.
This Lance Twiggs kid is an interesting character with an interesting role in all of this. What was all that about planning to retrieve the rifle? Isn't that conspiracy? Was that before or after the fact? Isn't that a chargeable felony?
