How did he confess?​

Mr Cox told the press that a member of Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend, who then contacted a Sheriff with information that Robinson had implied he had committed the shooting.

According to CNN, the alleged shooter confessed to his dad that he was the shooter. Donald Trump said the "father convinced the son", and he went to a US Marshal.

The Utah governor praised the family members of the suspect, Tyler Robinson, who "did the right thing" by handing the suspect to authorities.

"I especially want to thank the family of Charlie Kirk," the governor also told the news conference, adding: "I want us to be thinking of them as we bring justice to this case."

Where is Tyler from?​

The dad of suspect, Matt Robinson, is reportedly a 27-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff's Department, according to the MailOnline. His mum, Amber Robinson, reportedly worked as a care worker.

The accused shooter is said to reside in a six-bedroom home valued at $600,000 in Washington, Utah - approximately 260 miles south of the shooting scene, the Daily Mail reports.

Officials released details about their suspected gunman saying they appeared "to be of college age" and "blended in" to the roughly 3,000 large university crowd who went to see Kirk's debate.

What was written on the bullet casings?​

Bullet casings discovered by investigators had several inscriptions engraved on them, Mr Cox said. The casing that had been fired read: “notices bulges OWO what’s this?”

Mr Cox said there were three unfired casings:

• One read, “hey fascist! catch!” with an up arrow symbol, right arrow symbol, and three down arrow symbols.
• Another one read: “oh bella ciao bella ciao bella ciao ciao ciao,” Cox said.
• The third fired casing read: “if you read this you are gay lmao.”

At press conference on Friday morning, Utah Governor Spencer Cox began his remarks by delcaring: 'We got him.'

He said that investigators learned from Robinson's family that he had become more political in recent times, and had recently expressed his dislike for Kirk, describing him to his family as 'full of hate.'

Cox said that casings from the weapon used to kill Kirk were found to have several anti-fascist messages engraved on them, including one referencing the WW2 Italian anti-fascist song Bella Ciao.

One engraving read 'Hey Fascists, Catch!' - next to an up arrow symbol, right arrow symbol and three down arrow symbols - and another read 'If You Read This You Are Gay LMAO', Cox said.

The governor added that Robinson's roommate helped investigators by showing messages on Discord where the alleged killer talked about retrieving a rifle from a drop point, leaving the rifle in a bush, and references to engraved bullets and a scope.

In one image from Robinson's mother's social media from 2017, he was seen wearing a Donald Trump costume to Halloween.

Other images also show Robinson using guns in his childhood, including one where he was posing with an M2 Browning 50. calibre machine gun.

That leaves "diffuse targeting" as the most likely explanation. Diffuse targeting is no mystery, go watch those "will somebody please do IT?" videos on TikTok/etc. Diffuse targeting works by the use of distributed incentivization and resourcing of loonies who are just crazy enough to do something that would be politically convenient for you. With enough money, I don't need to target my influence at THIS loony specifically, nor does he need to be armed with THIS gun specifically. I just keep blowing resources and incentives in the general direction until some crazy person puts the puzzle pieces together and brings about the result I am looking for.
