Rick Santorum: "I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them.."

But absolutely important for Ron Paul. Necessary for Paul to make sure minorities know that he sees all humans as the minorities we all are and will be the only president that will protect our liberties, and therefore our eventual common welfare, EQUALLY. This Santorum fool, and he is a frothy fool, can only offer a better foil for the magnanimous message of liberties harbinger, Dr Ron Paul. *Clapping* lol.

im not a fan of this kind of attack, same kind used against RP-there are plenty of terrible policy issue Santorum has, he shouldn't go down for a stupid gaffe. im so sick of the 'race' test with candidates...these media outlets trying to influence the public by going straight to the race card are sooo fucking low and pathetic.

What did he say? Im at work and cant see the vid

"I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money; I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money....And provide for themselves and their families," Santorum added, to applause. "The best way to do that is to get the manufacturing sector of the economy rolling again."

It was stereotyping and tacky as he was pandering to what appears to be a mostly/all white audience. No one bats an eye and he gets nods and agreeance from the audience. The apologetics by some here for this mindset is more so disturbing to me, imo. Some people must live sheltered lives...Always seems to be room to lose faith in the humanity of our fellow citizens.

BTW...not only are entitlments not limited to one race but he makes out as if all welfare recipients are qualified for is manufacturing. It is fail from one end to the other as far as stereotyping goes.

Oh, not really bad what he is saying. Actually sounds like something I would say. But I can see him being hammered with it though. Thing is, there are probably about 50 black people that will vote him. So it really doesn't matter what he says, but I see where his thinking lies though.

He didn't say "black" he said "blah people" you know, all those damn "blah people" getting welfare!

Frothy was talking about blah people, and was simply misquoted.

Yup, that's what he explained to Anderson Cooper yesterday.

I think the sentence went something like

"I don't want to make bl-"

thinks about the word black, decides not to use it

"-uhh people's lives better blah blah blah."

The funny thing is that the context was about Iowans, I think, so it was actually Cooper who inferred that Santorum must be talking about blacks.

:) LOL..It was the smarminess from the audience that grates me. He was pandering, typical political sell out. I think there is a dislocation between who is on these programs and those who are nodding their heads in agreement. Does open your eyes as to where his thinking lays, I absolutely agree with you.
