Rich Men North of Richmond

That's called "dialect code-switching" (and apparently, it means your friend is a tool of Da Joos - sorry about that).

However, in Anthony's case, it just seems to be the exaggerated twang typical to the genre & style of the song.

In 1964, during Peak Beatlemania, the Beatles (who the media loved to cover because they were four quick-witted young men) were asked why they spoke with British accents but sang with American accents. It was one of the few times they didn't have a quick witticism because they were genuinely perplexed. Do we? How could that be possible? Nah. We'd know, right? Why does he think that?

Which no doubt proves to someone that the Beatles were the first step of this psyop.

Oliver Anthony, crooner of chart-topping “Rich Men North of Richmond,” believes the government won’t “save us.”

In an interview with the Free Press following the overnight success of his viral so-called blue-collar anthem, the country singer said he hopes his music will inspire listeners to stop relying “on someone 150 or 500 miles away from them to solve their problems.”

“Nobody in Washington, DC, no one in the federal government’s coming to save us,” he said, according to a clip posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

“The people that are going to save us are each other.”

[h=1]Oliver Anthony Clarifies “Rich Men North of Richmond” Message After Song Used in GOP Debate: “Nothing to Do With Joe Biden”[/h]

NeoCONs are not good guys. In fact, I'm confident it will be shown in time that it was the neoCONs who built the Deep State and precipitated Clown World (and it appears, lost control of it). Most of the faces in the GOP primaries, as usual, are neoCONs. They should be opposed as much as any DS-bootlicking Democrat.

"Rich Men North of Richmond" Exposes The Empire of Lies

For many decades, the American people have been bombarded with propaganda. Yet, out of nowhere, with a guitar and microphone, Oliver Anthony exposed the Empire of Lies. Millions of Americans found out that they are not alone in their economic struggles. But even more importantly, "Rich Men North of Richmond" correctly identified the culprits. Our economic problems don't come foreign sources; but from those at home, who seek "total control."

Right.
But saying it had nothing to do with Biden is insane and tells us about his statement that "Diversity is our strength", that's a phrase of the left.

I like Caitlin for her takes on US imperialism, but she's hopelessly mired in the left/right paradigm that evaporated several years ago now. She's talking about things that aren't relevant in 2023.

Maybe they aren't, maybe they are. Her beloved "Left" got brainwashed into a bunch of hypocritical fascists much more useful to the very entities that they hate than to the working people that they love. Yes, The "Left" has always considered itself a fan of the working man, as it puts on its hand lotion lest it get a callous, but the megacorporations kiss their asses and working men don't.

Let them nibble around the edges of their hypocrisy. Let them glance at themselves in a mirror once in a while, and see which are honest enough with themselves to turn to stone.

I suppose I'll have to listen to the song or read the lyrics at some point...

Meh, like I noted about "Try That In A Small Town", I still say Bocephus did it better over 40 years ago.

Strange times we are in though.

Even the songs lamenting how bad things have gotten were better then.

As "anthems" go, this still remains one of my favorites, maybe for the video footage more than anything else.
