Other things equal, I'd take an "outlandish" conspiracy theorist over a "respectable" establishment hack (Democrat or Republican). The bullshit we are being fed by the establishment hacks is much worse - and far more dangerous - than anything being peddled by the so-called "conspiracy theorists".

As far as I have ever seen, believing in things like "9/11 truth" or "chemtrails" doesn't involve endorsing policies that curtail or destroy liberty. IOW: I prefer "9/11 truthers" over "common sense" gun-grabbers, and "chemtrail" believers over "climate change" alarmists.

(I have no idea what RFK Jr.'s positions on gun control and "climate change" are, and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he is awful on those issues - but even if so, that still doesn't have anything to do with whatever he thinks about 9/11 or "chemtrails" or whatnot.)

One thing I will add, is that a complaint against Trump is that he was a Democrat. And that's true, however, he was a Democrat from the 1980s. The scary thing is that the modern Democrats saw that as a right wing extremist. Yeah, I would prefer a libertarian, but I will take a (relatively) honest 1980s Democrat over the modern day hacks whether Republicans or Democrats. These days, I would just prefer sanity over my principles. Basically I am against the clown show. Clown world ain't funny anymore.

And yes, I know politics is bread and circuses these days. I know Trump, RFK, Desantis, etc are probably all puppets, but I can't fall into hopeless cynicism. I don't put my faith in them, but at this point in time standing on the side of sanity is about all I can do.

This particular one doesn't have that smell to me, and he didn't seem to have that smell to Ron Paul when he said the CIA killed his uncle on the Liberty Report.

If a movement coalesces around this man, I'm on that bandwagon. He can get the EPA wrong; he has mRNA right. I'm allowed to be a single issue voter when that issue is postponing the Second Coming.

In 2007 I was considering supporting Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich. I picked Ron Paul based on gun control. I believe elements within the U.S. government either caused 9/11 to happen or allowed it to happen. Why would I let that same government take away my right to own firearms? RFK Jr. is also, unfortunately, bad on guns.

That said, there is no Ron Paul in this race. Right now it looks to be a two way race between Desantis and Trump. I like senator Tim Scott better than either of them but I don't think Tim Scott is a Ron Paul either. Frankly I don't see RFK Jr. beating Biden, but I'm hoping he'll poll high enough to make the debates and force Biden to answer serious questions about vaccine mandates and this foolish war in Ukraine. We shall see Sam McGee.

That would explode the left/right paradigm once and for all.
 
Strategically I'm considering a cross over in the primaries and voting for RFK jr. The democrats aren't going to be smart enough to figure out that he's the best of their bunch so they're gonna need some help. Here in Georgia they'll probably try to run Stacy Abrams or some stupid s*#%.
