I'm not saying Lincoln was a saint. I know he subverted the Constitution among other bad decisions. But I think this new wave of frenzied hatred for him is way over the top.

there was a great video of him speaking at the Nimitz day events on Google i believe. I bought his book after watching it. It's very informative, and well written. Also non-partisan, he blasts all sides

It's not a "new wave." Lincoln earned the hatred, and some people have been aware of his crimes for decades. He was every bit as good a guy, as, say, FDR, or Woodrow Wilson, or Joseph Stalin.

How does murdering 600,000 Americans make him a good guy?

Do you understand that 1865 was the last year of states rights, federalism, state citizenship usurped a lil later by 14th amendment.
The decision of lincoln, to act as a military dictator, has far reaching consequences to the non-republic we live in today.
Abe crossed the Rubicon. And for that, the hatred for him isn't enough.
I hope you understand the meaning of that last statement.
He crossed the Rubicon. He destroyed the Republic. In its place, the American Empire was born.
Thus, the bullshit we live in today.

I'm sure if you read Hitlers letters, they'd show a pleasant man.
