Republican Glenn Youngkin WINS in Virginia, Republican Also Winning in NJ at Midnight

For the haters....

I was proud to endorse Glenn Youngkin. His win tonight is a clear and much needed signal for personal freedom and that parents are the deciders of their children’s education and future. - Rand Paul

I, for one, am tired of picking and choosing which of the first ten Amendments to defend, at the expense of the rest.

I used to have that mindset. Now I judge politicians based on below criteria:

1) Will they line me up against a wall and shoot me? (half or more "D" - yes. any "R" besides lindsey graham is a solid "no")
2) Will they force me to take a jab (most "D" - yes. most "R" - no.)
3) Will they call for war if Texas secedes (almost all "D" - yes. most "R" - no.)

It is of course possible to reclaim all of the rights listed in the BoR. But such a thing would require a FSP type project which seems to have very little support. Until something like that gets momentum, my #1 priority is just keep breathing...

Their faces mean nothing. Their actions aren't reported on CNN.

Worked on Trump and other RINOs.

It's about time we realized that it's those very few Republican politicians who DO have integrity who are the RINOs. Real Republican office holders, judging by the sheer numbers, are the fascists.

I'm largely in agreement with you - there is precious little to no difference between the two parties. However the current status, to me, appears to be perilous - the eye of Sauron seems to have turned inward, with the clearly manufactured rhetoric regarding 1/6, "white nationalism", "domestic terrorism" (I repeat myself, apparently)... There is no question that the R faction represents no real resistance to these efforts, but it does represent *some* resistance to these efforts. When I'm on a sinking boat with 2 other people, I'm not going to bitch about the guy who's not bailing fast enough, relative to the guy who's bucketing water INTO the boat. Or, if you like, I'm going to bitch more at the guy who is rapidly bailing water into the boat, versus the guy who's casually bailing water into the boat.

This is just basic threat assessment.

Good enough for Rand, good enough for me.

Owe you a rep.

Nor is it the time to argue about who the asshole was that sunk the ship in the first place.

Did you get that report BTW?

When it's time to take your shoes off and get rid of anything resembling a sinker in your pockets because you're clearly about to go swimming, save your breath. You're about to need it.

It's past time to choose which of the people sinking the boat to bitch at. Throw them both out, or swim. There's no longer a third way. It has been getting tried for fifty years, and now here we are. The water is flowing in over the gunwales by now.

I did, bud - thanks! I haven't had a chance to go through it, I've had a lot going on here with family. But I will - looking forward to it!

One doesn't exclude the other - I KNOW the boat is going down, but I'm looking for TIME. We don't have lifeboats, we don't have life vests. And we're a long way from land. Oh, and also - the guy who's bailing water INTO the boat is CLEARLY planning on going around and dunking everyone who doesn't drown on the first go-round.

Enough with the analogies - if a vote for this Youngkin fella stems the emergent tide of socialist indoctrination even a little, we're better off than if McAuliffe would have won, if only incrementally. Increments matter in times like this.

I agree with you - they both suck, and they're both trying to gut the country, but they also have constituencies to cater toward - that the R faction has an *incrementally* smaller government constituency to cater toward means that they are, at this point, the unfortunately preferred option. It's not a preference, it's just a threat assessment. I think any liberty minded person should be able to see that D victories will INCREASE the rate of the expansion of the state incrementally more rapidly than R victories. That's not an endorsement of the R faction. It's just... again... threat assessment.

Pretty sure the Republican party won the Civil <fucking> War. This guy must have taken CRT indoctrination instead of History class.

:tears::tears::tears:

This is extra-special funny when you consider the fact that many defenders of CRT claim that it is only about teaching "real" history (à la the so-called "1619 Project", for example).

I am aware that your average Christian does not behave like Jesus. I also know the average politician is not Ron Paul, but when one party is pushing for a Marxist revolution now, I will be glad when a majority of the population says no by voting for an imperfect candidate who also says no.

Life is no fun if you go through it as high strung as as a house cat on methamphetamines.

I hear you. But my experience is that ain't necessarily so. And the reason why is, civilian conservatives are more reliable, and provide more resistance than GOP politicians. But they aren't completely reliable...

Anyone up for printing up trillions at Warp Speed and feeding it all to Big Pharma? I thought not--now that Biden was installed.

I remain convinced that the only way to restore our rights at this point to any noticeable degree is a FSP-style endeavor. But the general appetite for such a project seems small and FSP itself had only limited success.

Texas/South seceding is a step in the right direction, but from a practical perspective the new masters will be largely the same as the old masters.

I am having to move my business because of politicians like McCaulif and you are posting gay porn. Go mope with The Count LOL

Consider yourself ahead of the curve. Or have you not noticed they're trying to carve the nation up into easier to control chunks?

I think we're singing from the same sheet of music, man.

Like I said earlier, we're in a desperate enough situation that I think seconds count... for example, do I think Youngkin is going to make VA great again? Nah, not really. But I think McAuliffe was going to keep shoveling coal into the furnace faster than Virginians could get far enough away from the boiler.

I get it. On the big issues, they're indistinguishable. But on the margins, there's something for your civilian conservative to cling to. If it buys us a day, a week, a month, or a year to convince those civilian conservatives that they're being scammed, I'll take it. I'll take every second I can get. I tend to be a "never say die" type of guy, though.

Meh. People are already divided based on ideology, so the existence of an elite ruling class of 'theys' makes no difference, in my opinion. The powers that be certainly benefit from exacerbating that division, true, but the division would still be there regardless.

I enjoy the motte and bailey tactic that CRT teaches the "real" history of discrimination and slavery in America, as though before CRT came along, we were all being taught that Thomas Jefferson was a flawless demigod whom we all must worship unquestionably, and that slavery was barely a thing, etc. Yes, ONLY CRT teaches real history, everything else is a *white*wash. Yet somehow here I am, having graduated HS in 1993, knowing probably more about the history of the US than "Ibrahm X Kendi" (LOL), or that Robin D'whateverthefuck broad...

The strategy has never been more clearly displayed. I'm hoping that these elections show that people are finally starting to recognize it, and attack it at it's core.
