Reports of Record Breaking Turnout

Stop the doom and gloom.

A. Independents voting Obama doesn't really make a difference. What will count is whether the RP supporters that exist will turn out in higher numbers. I don't see many RP supporters switching to Obama - they're too smart.

B. It's always been doubtful that RP could beat McCain. We need a strong 2nd or 3rd in this one so the campaign can move on with more legitimacy in the eyes of Americans. We only need to beat Huckabee and Romney. If McCain whips Romney that actually helps us.

C. In Iowa, RP had his largest base of support in the suburbs. These are working families who will most likely vote after work is over.

Bottom line? It ain't over until the fat lady sings.

If Hillary had creamed Obama in Iowa, the majority of independents in NH would be voting in the GOP Primary.

High turnout is great for us!

We're talking New Hampshire, folks, Live Free or Die!

They were talking last night how the young people work hard for their candidate and then forget to vote.

Let's hope every single Ron Paul supporter votes today.

And, besides, have I mentioned Ron Paul is coming in third so far? :D

they're all going for Obama, he will win something like 40%+ of the vote

hopefully the exit polls will make that clear soon so people can go and vote Ron paul knowing the other one is over

I totally agree. If McCain beats Romney in NH, Romney will likely win his home state of Michigan next Tuesday thereby turning this GOP race into a scramble. If the Good Doctor can finish respectably at third in both states, then the fence sitters will start to give him a second look.

All day it seems like independents are going for Obama rather then trying to make a substantive impact on the GOP Race.

All the old people are going for McCain.

Sigh

Look mccain and romney will win the first 2 places probably.

Third is major for us and might finally give us that "frontrunner" label.

This will knock out hunter and maybe even thompson. Guiliani will lose more support. Huck will be written off as a one hit wonder if he goes fifth or lower.

Who cares what happens with the dems for now?
Ron Paul would pwn on one on one debate anyway.

Alot of turnout is democratic and independent. Even though Obama is getting alot of independents, it doesn't mean that Paul is getting any. The Republican still have slim pickens' in general.

Paul can easily out-debate and beat Obama He is simply too experienced and too educated about our economy, he will easily expose Obama as nothing more than a sophomoric politician with amazing rhetorical abilities.

People will choose the experienced economist Paul over the inspirational but shallow Obama.

Also, I've heard reports of wild dingos attacking McCain voters...unconfirmed of course, but hey, be on the safe side and stay indoors today :)

Not a deterrent. Voting for McCain or listening to him speak is also like being attacked by wild dingos.

Independants know that '3rd place Ron Paul = Black eye for Fox News'. They may vote for paul just to take Fox down a notch.

This message about these primaries prior to Super Tuesday should be:

Paul is the only republican who can and will beat Obama.

He will do this with his sound foreign/fiscal policy and experience.

Secondly,
The republicans have no serious frontrunner. They have no good candidates sans Paul.
None of them can realistically beat Obama.
Not McCain with his extremely militant foreign policy that will quickly bankrupt us
Not Romney, with the stigma of being a mormon, extremely rich, and a "yankee" (for the red-staters)
Not Huckabee...too dumb.. Do I have to explain how Obama would slaughter him ?
Not Giuliani, whose policies are no deeper than his rhetoric, Obama's would crush him in an open debate, imagine Giuliani trying to demagogue in front of Obama...ha!...
and Thompson.... well... cue the law & order : * Bum BUM*

It makes people imagine Paul as the republican nominee debating Obama one on one on national TV.
Are you imaging ? Can you try ? Does it get you excited ?

I can easily imagine Paul "reminding" Obama about the how this nation was founded and why are fiscal policy has been irrational fro the past 30 years. Obama will have to do homework every night just to keep up. I'm not calling Obama dumb in any sense, but Paul has 30 years of experience and the education that comes with that. Paul was an MD and call talk with much more authority on Healthcare than Obama. Paul was in the service and call do the same with national defense.

Paul debates Fed chiefs for a living, Obama maybe one of the most charismatic speakers we have ever seen , and he has good things to say, but Paul simply has so many more layers of substance and nuance in his policy and ideas.

Paul's ideas will overshadow Obama's powerful but shallow speaking, this is why he is only man who can beat him

Record turnout is bad news for McCain. He is appealing to that small 30% that supporters more war. The huge turnout is because people are working to defeat McCain and his war.

Should we start an alternative campaign to all the ones urging idiots to vote (not attached to the RP name of course, and after the primaries maybe)? Maybe we should say: if you haven't made up your mind before you get in your car to vote....stay at home and let those who have been paying attention choose the next leader of the country.

All these stories about undecideds wanting to register independent on primary day and not having a clue for whom to vote, but voting anyway since it's their civic freaking duty is starting to drive me crazy. There should be an alternative voice that says go vote, but only if you know who you're waiting in line to vote for.

We need to start herding the sheep away from the cliff they're about to walk right over. Freaking idiots.

Didn't a NH congressman lose the last election because of the war?

Start talking to the sheep

That is what GOTV is for.

You have got to talk to those "sheep" give them a reason to vote for
your guy.

But many in our movement have criticized the sheep for ignoring Dr. Paul. If we don't place well today, my first thought will be "blowback" :(

third is up for grabs today
if we win third the media blackout ends

DOn't kid yourself. We could get first in NH, and the media blackout would continue.

They'd just spin at like this:

"Oddball Texas Libertarian Ron Paul took first among the Republicans in New Hampshire. New Hampshire, a very independent state, is known for its unusual views and is not very useful for predicting the winner.

And now, for a look at how McCain and Obama are doing in Michigan, here's our very own Susie Sugartits. How's it looking out there in Ann Arbor, Susie?"

Ron Paul signs are nice, but some "McCain supports the war" signs might have helped, as well.

the GOP has been putting out the word that voting this year is critical to maintain the party status quo. you have been identified as a potential threat, and the establishment is responding accordingly.

you made a big mistake by underestimating Iowa because of values voters. they are a small % of the GOP, but they consistently turn out, especially in mild weather. there is a reason they poll the people they do. if the turnout for Ron Paul supporters is anything like Iowa, then I am disappointed in this campaign and the state of NH.

that's not true. if Ron Paul won NH, he would be in it to win it. the media would have to recognize him as a front runner.
