If an uprising on the scale of Libya, Egypt, Greece or Syria were to break out here, it would be dealt with in the harshest manner possible.

All the while decrying "humans rights" abuses in the aforementioned countries.

What do you suppose the USG's reaction would be if, say, Russia, decided to supply air cover and take out missile targets like we did in Libya for the "freedom fighters"?

Yep. This is exactly what the Gestapo did, to a T. How people don't realize this, I will never understand. How it isn't a matter of national outcry that we LITERALLY have the modern Gestapo running around raiding people's houses is just beyond me.

I remember seeing a scene from one of those WWII nazi Germany movies where the main character watched across the street as the Gestapo raided an apartment and the Jewish family was required to stand. The old decrepid man was unable, although he tried feverishly with his arms to lift himself. After failing, the Gestapo then lifted his wheelchair and dumped him out of the window from about ten stories up.

What really scares me is the idea that things like this may happen here... and nobody would do a thing about it. Too few people would know about it.

I know of more than couple of people that would cheer if a cop defenestrated a Ron Paul "nut" or a "peace queer".

They are already cheering it on. Everytime a little kid is frisked at the airport and there is a story or video about, half the comments defend the TSA or attack the parents.

There is no habeas corpus anymore. The patriot act eliminated that. These people could be labeled enemy combatants as they were seen as a threat to national security by potentiallt disruoring the NAToO meeting. Labeles a threat without trial or charge. No warrant necessary.
