I've had to wait a few hours, before posting this, recognizing that I needed to calm down first. I'm not sure it worked, though, because I still feel like blowing a gasket on this.

First, a recap. The "Project on Excellence in Journalism"(sic) ( http://www.journalism.org ) have been studying media coverage for the Presidental primaries season, and producing weekly reports, starting a few weeks ago.

Here's a graph of their results, for the week Jan 6th - Jan 11th. Source: http://www.journalism.org/node/9266 :

Now here's the latest report for the week Jan 28th to Feb 3rd ( http://www.journalism.org/node/9610 ) with the following pics:

And cop this, from the data table for the period Jan 28th - Feb 3rd:

Yes, that's right. Dr Paul has been bounced not just from the graph, but now also from the DATA TABLE!! I expect that this is because even his "Significant Presence" figure has dropped from 0.2% to be closer to ZERO than 0.1%. Even BILL RICHARDSON gets more coverage than Dr Paul!! And when did he drop out? Jan 10th. Three weeks ago.

From the report, we can safely say that John McCain and Mitt Romney both received HUNDREDS OF TIMES more coverage in the last week, than Dr Paul.

I rang up the author of the report, Mark Jurkowitz, last week. I discussed with him the fact that even HE had left Dr Paul off his graph, and asked him to include Dr Paul in the graph, along with everyone else. He refused at the time, saying that Dr Paul didn't get enough media attention to warrent his inclusion. I pointed out that the fact that Dr Paul WASN'T getting the media attention WAS the story, and such needed to be exposed by his organization.

I spoke to him again earlier today (prior to the current week's report being released). He again refused to include Dr Paul in the graph, stating that Dr Paul got basically no coverage, and therefore didn't deserve to be mentioned on his graph. Now, I see that he's bounced Dr Paul's name from the data table, as well! Two weeks running, he has been made aware that I have been on to him about Dr Paul's lack of coverage, and about the "Project on Excellence in Journalism"'s failure to highlight this blackout. With his latest decision, to exclude Dr Paul 100% from his report on media coverage, by excising him from the data table, it is evident now that either this man - or the organization for which he writes - has an agenda separate to their stated goals, and are in fact ACTIVELY WORKING AGAINST Dr Paul.

Their headline for the report is: "McCain Wins the Coverage Battle as Media Move to Anoint Him". The irony that his own headline makes my point is apparently lost on him.

Let me just make this clear: The self-described "Project on Excellence in Journalism" tout themselves as being the monitors of the media. They are the ones meant to be exposing things like this blackout, yet here, they concede that it is the media doing the anointing, and yet they refuse not only to cover the fact that Dr Paul has been subject to a blackout, but we see here that they are now outwardly AIDING AND ABETTING the MSM in their blackout.

"Project on Excellence in Journalism"? More like"Ministry of Truth".

Feel free to let them know what you think of their wilful failure to expose the MSM blackout, and their wilful decision to AID AND ABET the blackout by wiping Dr Paul from their analysis and reports.

The authors name is Mark Jurkowitz, but I think you should go straight to the top, Tom Rosenstiel, to find out whether Jurkowitz is promoting his own agenda, or whether it is the "Project on Excellence(sic) in Journalism"s agenda that he is operating:

Update, Jan 7th 2008: After harranguing the Director of the Project for Excellence in Journalism, they have conceded to including Dr Paul on the table. We now OFFICIALLY have ZERO media coverage. This, during the week that 4th quarter 07 donations (including military donations) were announced:

This evidence should be used to revoke some FCC licenses, or at least be used to break up these media companies.

Just goes to prove that we're not tin foil hat RP supporters. We noticed a trend, and that is demonstrated by the data.

revoke licenses. break them up. all this stuff is legit and within the bounds of the government.

true they can report on whoever they want. but if they're going to choose to influence presidential elections, they can do it without a license.

lastnymleft: i'm not sure if you have a blog or somewhere else where you can publish this data? it would be good to get it all gathered somewhere more public so we can send it around.

This makes me mad too. I posted this on MySpace. We must not give up this quest. We must stay united. We must continue to educate our fellow Americans.

What is amazing is that with no exposure AT ALL, whatsoever, we are holding strong.

The rally today in Minneapolis drew thousands...more than Hillary's rally two days prior.

Everything we have done is through word of mouth and the internet.

Screw the media. I have always been a huge news junky, but I just can't watch it anymore. Aside from when they give results, I am done with the media...at this point I just get sick watching it---literally, my stomach feels queasy.

All in all, this has to go down as one of the greatest travesties in the history of American politics.

I don't have a blog. I've sent a link to this post to a couple of places (dailypaul, ronpaulforpresident2008, paulunteer). This needs to get out into the blogosphere, and picked up, and spread around EVERYWHERE. If anyone here can help do that, please do it.

" With Florida winner John McCain getting about 75% more coverage than Mitt Romney, and with Mike Huckabee almost invisible (LNL: Huckabee got ~25-50 times the press Dr Paul got), the press appeared conspicuously close to turning McCain into the presumptive nominee last week. In that Jan. 28-Feb. 3 period, which ran from the day before the Florida primary to two days before Super Tuesday, McCain generated more coverage than any candidate. And that coverage suggested a media “tiering” of the race, with McCain a heavy favorite over several also-rans. McCain had not necessarily put Mitt Romney away, but the press nearly had." http://www.journalism.org/node/9610

These turkeys don't get it. This media annointing IS the story!! Who's making those decisions within the media? THAT'S where a good journalist should be looking for stories. Pity there are none of them left.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll get much joy from the FCC. There's a loophole through which all these companies are jumping.

And, besides, there was a story a couple of years back about 2 x Fox investigative reporters (yes, they did exist at some time!). They discovered a cancer-causing Human Growth Hormone being used in cows that was infecting milk, and therefore causing cancers. They were going to expose it, but Fox censored their story, repeatedly, covering up the story in favor of their corporate buddies/advertizers. Long story short, they ended up going to court, and Fox WON. The judge said that, although they were a "news" organization, it was perfectly within their right to LIE to the public. They have no obligation to tell the truth.

I have seen this myself numerous times. They have the space on the page or website but would prefer to leave it blank or leave up candidates that have left. It sickens me.

I run ronpaulblogs.com I would be happy to put this up as an article there. If you want PM me any text differences you want and I will use the graphs as they rock. I am busy right now but should be able to do this in about 12 hours. PM me. Plus feel free to do other aveneues. I could help with a Press Release although it almost sounds like the most ironic thing to do with this story.

Thanks for the information.

These people are just another link in the shameful journalistic mainstream who are clearly enemies of freedom and truth.

How dare they not even raise concern about a deliberate media blackout against Ron Paul.

Who in the media will speak out about the puppet-masters? All of those who dare not risk their jobs to please your murderous masters are guilty of treason and conspirators in mass murder.

We will beat you by peaceful means, yet your shame will not disappear.

The internet will save democracy. No wonder McCain and the other neocons want to regulate it.

A Victory! Of sorts.

Well, after giving the "Project on Excellence in Journalism" director an earful, they have made something of a concession. We are now back on the "Media Exposure by Candidate" table. It was, as I suspected, that we had been dropped off because Dr Paul attained closer to ZERO than 0.1% of media coverage:

Source: http://www.journalism.org/node/9610

This is what it's come down to. We have to fight, to get ZERO.

This table is now in a form that it should be spread FAR AND WIDE. Please do.

I sent an email through to Jesse at the campaign, but have been ignored. If someone knows how to get through to someone that cares at the official campaign, please put them on to this. They need to be doing a press release and jumping up and down NOW.

Im putting together a blueprint for our eventual success in the political sphere. "yeah right..you and everyone else" but this one will allow us to win from the bottom up, spreading from the minor positions with our currently developed grassroots army...it will produce wins, will be fun and will allow us to take over the way we should. This trying from the top is too much to fight against. We are organized in such a manner to be able to decimate the state races...and I mean as I am compiling the data, I see that with our current support bases across the individual states, we can completely change the entire political landscape at the state level. MORE TO COME!

This is the best post I have seen in this forum.

Thank you so much for posting this.

The fact that the "Project on Excellence in Journalism" did not icluding an obvious failure in the media to cover this candidate, well, ironic. duh.

Great to see they added him and we now have proof positive of the MSM concerted effort to keep Ron Paul out of the news.

Thanks again.

Thank you for posting this thread. I'm working on a book right now that covers our struggle.

This information needs to become part of a press release from the official campaign. It would get picked up by bloggers and some papers. We must include relevant information in the release. It has to highlight the news worthy happenings that took place during these times and were ignored. A great example given in this thread is the earnings release for the 4th quarter. The grassroots for a presidential campaign achieved record breaking donations (breaking the 1 day record), the military donations, out fund raising all other republicans... Some of these events are historic and they chose not to even mention them on the news. More importantly, ALL news chose to ignore them. A full on media blackout. That makes for an easy story to write once the press release comes out.

Super Tuesday States Won:

Obama: 13
Clinton: 9

McCain: 9
Romney: 7
Huckabee: 5
Paul: 0

Is it just me, or is there a direct correlation in media coverage and votes?

One more thing I really want from this Revolution is to see the media exposed for the frauds they really are. I want the sheeple to find out that they are being manipulated!
