I know thats a shocker. Especially to some Republicans who (for some reason) worship him... I think Mitt Romney has a huge poster of Reagan in his bedroom.

Guess who had the most deficit spending before Bush?
Guess whose administration siphoned of arms to Nicarguan rebels?
Guess who campaigned on getting rid of the DoE and decided not to?
Guess who had illegal invasions into Grenada?
Guess who appointed a liberal judge to the supreme court?
Guess who raised taxes through the roof (contrary to what some people say)?
Guess whose administration gave rise to the neocons (bush sr, cheney, wolfowitz... the whole gang)?

My point is that, Reagan wasn't that great of a conservative. And I love how Republicans use revisionist history to suggest otherwise. There is a reason why Ron did not pimp his Reagan endorsement... he didn't like him very much in the end. He was a great orator, wonderful charisma, but great President... absolutely not.

Can we all stop the warantless fascination with Reagan already.. please.

Ok, but the debate was in the Reagan library with Mrs. Reagan about 10 feet away.

As for Romney, he goes way overboard when pandering. The truth is, Mrs. Reagan has asked candidates in the past to avoid invoking her husbands name in campaign ads, etc. She was probably offended by Romney's answer.

At least we didn't feel like **** during his Presidency. He at least did that. 'Course he wasn't perfect, nor was he that great, but he was above average, and that's why Dr. Paul supported him at the very start.

It'd be stupid not to talk up the good points of Reagan. In the library, with the widow right there. Talk about political suicide if he did say anything negative

EVEN RP said Reagan failed at shrinking the government. (Meet the press). He's not stupid

Reagan had a lot of issues in his administration... some impeachable. The thing that makes him a good president was the fact he restored patriotism to our nation. That is no easy task and he should get credit were it is deserved.
