Dr. Paul is a multi-millionaire with a well diversified portfolio. ...if I remember correctly he has over a million dollars in gold & silver alone. If he needs money he could make 10x as much as a speaker & author than he ever would in Congress.
Beyond that, I like the article. The only thing I don't like is the ham-fisted suggestion that he name his new party the "Proservative Party." That's just corny as hell. It should be called "The Conservative Party."
Come on Elliot, have a little vision. I actually registered the domain almost 3 years ago, always felt a little like Ron Paul regarding the Republican party, not quite a GOP conservative, but definitely not a left-wing Progressive Democrat driving around in a cardboard card. People like simplicity, and we've done a few surveys regarding the Proservative name, very positive results. You have to think about a lot of things, including people's response to the name "Proservative" on a ballot next to the candidate, etc. We are essentially conservatives at heart, and the idea is to keep generally the same name, not introduce too much change to the "naming of thing", but give it just enough change that people recognize.
Pro is a positive spin on the word conservative.
Final sell: Proservative = Progressive action committed to Conservative values.
First version of the site is up, basic interest list forming. Unlike others right now, this is not really forming a new company, and definitely not "for-profit".

We start as a movement first, and see where that takes us.
