Actually China has become much more free market lately, and in fact, some could even say that in some specific instances they are more free than the US.
But to the main point, of course we have leverage in the Republican Party.
I see. So, we're slightly less free than Communist China but exert leverage over half of the One Party System. You just won't mention how much leverage. Doesn't fit the spin.
You'll see the libertarian rhetoric ratcheted up in the next few years, and they will do that in an attempt to pacify us because they know they'll lose our votes otherwise.
O great political guru, tell us--do our almost ten percent really count, or are we getting enough people thinking about their crap that they now feel the need to convince the semi-interested and not-active-enough-to-know-better that our real conservatism is influencing the party?
Also if we had no leverage, then why did Preibus come to some of our people to make promises? They don't just make promises out of generosity.
We have influence, not leverage. There is, Mr. Political Guru, a difference. And of course they make promises out of generosity. Nothing bespeaks their generosity, Mr. Political Guru, like their promises. The way they break those promises certainly doesn't bespeak of their generosity, does it?
If we had leverage, Mr. Political Guru, Priebus would be out. When they kiss our asses, they're trying to convince the people we talk to that when we make good sense, the politicians do listen. But they don't listen--at least until corporate money and/or our efforts to primary them speaks.
Comments, Mr. Political Guru?
Same reason Romney's team didn't want Ron to be nominated from the floor - they want to appear as a unified front. If you threaten that, then in some cases you can get them to give you things you wouldn't otherwise have gotten.
And you wonder why some people here say you come off as an ass. And if creating an obvious, highly visible fissure in the face of the GOP is just the thing to get us our liberties back without bloodshed? If that fissure is the very thing that can enable millions to see the truth, and better perform their duty in a republic of providing intelligent restraint to the lawmakers? Is your game more important than this? Will you give up on the whole ball game just to pad your at-bat stats? Are you incapable of drawing a line in the sand and standing pat? Or are you just so overwhelmed by the name-dropping you'll get to do tomorrow that you can't figure out where to draw that line?
If you had any idea how thoroughly you sound like a dog begging Our Masters for a bone, you'd shut the hell up.
