Nice!

One of the comments I liked, and which shows the power of the coalition Rand has forged:

Rand, I'm not a libertarian but am your defender. I respect your constitutionalist views. I want your voice in the Congress. I have written two columns defending you in two cities’ papers. Your honesty will carry the day.

Excellent

My views on Redstate are much more positive since Erik promoted Rand and continues to back him

Isn't this the same site that banned Ron Paul supporters from posting?

Yeah, but isn't it GOOD they are opening up, at least to Rand? They banned us before the economic crash and bailouts, remember?

It is, but Erick Erikson (RedState's owner/Editor in Chief) also stood up in support of Rand Paul early on in the primary, and promoted Rand on RS while taking a lot of flack from the somewhat Paul-hostile community of RS (even though, yes, he arguably had a hand in fostering that sentiment).

So, bottom line, unlike many in the Republican crowd who are only backing Paul now that he's won, Erikson actually got behind Paul back when we were still duking it out with Grayson and McConnell, and people like him are not only part of the reason we won, but part of what helped us win by a 25-point margin.

So, you gotta respect that. The fact that he got behind Rand so early and when it was unpopular on his own site, says to me he's backing Rand because he wants a serious fiscal conservative and Constitutionalist in the Senate, unlike some who are just backing Paul post-primary for political expediency. Erick has been a real ally so far, and he's helped turn the RS community toward Rand as well.

They do still strongly disagree with Ron's foreign policy (which is NOT the same as Rand's), but as Ron taught us all during the 2008 election, we can build strong coalitions based on what we agree on rather than be divided. The RS community recognizes that Rand Paul would be an amazing ally to have in the Senate to bring unassailable credibility and ferocity to the greatest threat to national security: our disastrous fiscal policy.

I was basically a neocon from 2001-2006 (foolish I know); I was persuaded by Ron Paul in 07-08. I think a lot of people are listening who maybe weren't before.

And I was a liberal Democrat. :) Thank goodness for Ron Paul!

Now, fast forward to 2010 - Looks like a huge, rabid detractor of the Pauls on a bunch of conservative blogs, might have just gotten the banhammer from Redstate in the comments sections of Paul's essay of all places. :D

Combine that with the fact that there have been a few pro-Schiff pieces there in the last few weeks or so makes me inclined to agree with Bruno's assessment.

I voted Democrats down the party line in 2006 after being fed up with Bush. Then when they went along with bush and gave him everything he wanted I said enough.

Thank you Democrats and Keith Olberman, Republicans and FOX News for making me educate myself and realize what a bunch of pigs you are.
