Recommendations to Sway McCain Voter

McCain's not anti-Asian. He's not prejudiced.

He was just beaten every day in his life for five years and so, unfortunately, I might add, chooses to refer to those torturers with the slur.

What are your feelings, Joe, about McCain and his disrespect toward Paul? The smirking, the laughing - don't you think that simply, that just makes him look like a JERK? Are Paul supporters the only ones who see it this way?

Also, ALL he talks about is his military background. Way back in the day (I'm in AZ) I saw him as a hero when I heard all the stories. But as grateful I am that he served our country, that doesn't mean he should run it. Hope this doesn't come out wrong, but it appears to me that this is ALL he's got. It's certainly ALL he talks about! He even tried to use it at the debate the other night when he was specifically asked about why he's qualified to run the ECONOMY. It's his ONLY answer for everything. Many brave men and women have served our country and there have been many POW's. What in the heck makes this guy any more qualified than any other veteran?

He doesn't know anything about economics, and he sure has done NOTHING for illegal immigration in his home state. Unfortunately, for us, his name alone might win him AZ, but so many Arizonans who are even somewhat informed can't stand him for this reason alone. But back to the question - what makes him qualified? I JUST DO NOT GET IT other than the fact that Americans are fooled by his war story which is all he has.

The funny thing is, I asked him if he supports President Bush. He grossly said NO, to which I said McCain is another Bush. I forgot what he said afterwards.

Four more years of Rockefeller "Republicanism"!

Also, OutsiderJoe, a McCain supporter, has a thread where he asks us Paul supporters about our guy, and I think we gave some him fairly good arguments for why we support him and not McCain. Check it out here: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=107469

Well, he can't seem to get enough of blowing up kids in Iraq, after saying he'll hate 'those gooks' for as long as he can live, I don't want to take any chances.

You say you support the guy inspite of his policies. Why? What other reason is there to back someone for president? Because he uses 'straight talk' for us, his friends? Because he can move his arms up and down like he's doing the robot while spitting false accusations and lieing through his teeth?

It makes more sense to give the guy a pass on these things because you like his policy than vice versa.

Maybe he was just talking about his captors, but I'd have to have a lot of trust in the guy to believe that. As Ron Paul said, when someone is racist they'll end up letting something slip out sooner or later.

That being said, after looking into McCain, this is really a rather minor transgression, comparativly speaking.

Sorry for pulling the thread off topic :(

I really am curious where you drew your conclusions on his character and why you back someone you know to be wrong.

Just remember that many McCain supporters (I'm one) support him in spite of some of his policy positions, not because of them. To us, he's an honest (I know you disagree), principled (I know you disagree) leader (I know you disagree) who will be a President of whom this nation can be proud (I know you disagree!).

Here's what John McCain had to say about Ron Paul (to Kent Snyder): "You're working for the most honest man in Congress."

Also, Ron Paul is so principled that the Club For Growth complains that he's too principled.

Graduating 894th out of 899 from the Naval Academy and crashing five fighter planes does not exactly scream competent leader. McCain is for amnesty and he will do all in his power to make sure his non-conservative ideas are implemented. My friends, here's some straight talk for you: he will continue our country's path to bankruptcy that the current administration and Congress has led us to with a big smirk on his face.

I find it depressing that some Republicans believe that they can actually win the general election with either McCain/Romney/Huckabee. If I had never done my research about Ron Paul, I would vote Hillary over McCain --- and I dislike Hillary with a passion. The Republicans did not lose in 2006 solely because of Republican scandals. The war was the main issue. The economy will be a huge issue. And well-versed on the economy McCain who can't answer an economic question from Ron Paul is not going to cut it.

I understand your point about wanting an honest, principled, and honorable President. However, if I base my decision solely on personality and character, I'd write-in my 90+ year-old grandfather. Our country is at a crossroads and we will have to elect someone who has a solid grasp of the economy and our nation's foreign policy if we are to avert the downfall of the United States of America. Dr. Paul has both the character and the record to remedy our ills and avert the coming danger. We here support him because of his position to defend our nation's Constitution. Please choose wisely.

Ron Paul just needs to define himself before other people have the chance, like McCain does. If McCain tells people that it's "straight talk", people accept it as fact. Same with Romney repeating economy and his experience in the private sector.

Remember the buzzword is "TIMETABLES". Luckily for me I still remember them from 2nd grade.
