Today, I asked my friend, who is 18, who he's going to vote for on Super Tuesday. He told me McCain. I asked him why, and he responded that he's essentially the least evil, and that he only disagrees with his war stances. It was a "might as well vote for him" mentality. He told me he would not vote Paul, but I truly feel it's the result of being misinformed and brainwashed by the media. I might be able to influence him though, so does anyone have a recommendation as to which anti-McCain website I should show him? He needs to realize McCain's true nature...

Tell him Iraq has cost 1.6 trillion, and McCain wants to dump another trillion in it over the next four years.

McCain keeps winning the anti-war vote....no idea why.

My friend was a big mccain supporter, and I tried convincing him for several months that McCain would be the wrong choice
then I convinced him to watch "From Freedom to Fascism" and all the sudden he had second doubts, and then the next day after he did some research he told me "you were right, I am going to vote for Ron Paul"
I also told him about Ron Paul's successes so far (I told him we won louisiana (which is almost true) we got 2nd in nevada and that Ron's plan was to win 5 states and he had a good shot at that and wait for a brokered convention)
he was sold

McCain has NOTHING but his war stance. He admitted he knows nothing of the economy, he is for amnesty and he has been involved with MANY scandals.

SO, what exactly does your friend support?

Primary is the time to vote with your heart and mind. to pick a person you HOPE would win.

Yea, that ones good.

Here he says, "We will never surrender, but there will be other wars":

Our military is stretched thin already. Ask him if he wants to be drafted.

edit: Make sure you show him John McCain vs John McCain: http://mccain.bravenewfilms.org/blog/574-john-mccain-vs-john-mccain

Ask him what kind of message it sends when people are willing to vote for someone evil when a non-evil person is there. Me? I'll do the right thing even if I'm standing there alone. Regardless of how the election goes, I'll at least be able to look back and know I did the right thing.

Because regardless if McCain wins the nomination, he will not win the presidency against a democrat. In my opinion the ONLY person to win against a Democrat is Ron Paul.

These McCain supporters are so stupid, I met one the other day and asked him if he thinks we should stay in Iraq for the next 100 years.."Uhhh no but I think we should have military bases in other countries." Why? Why does the United States get to? What if China wanted to just put a military base in the US (since we're in debt to them so bad, they should practically own us LOL).
And yet these people that so for McCain and for Republicans that are pro-war, they support it, but GOD FORBID they put their money where their mouth is and enlist to fight the cause that they're voting for. Oh No, we'll leave that to poor saps that have no other choice but to enlist in the armed services.

Tell him to be ready for the draft.

Definitely be prepared for a military draft. McCain once sung "Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" and he's already stated that there will be other wars.

For years McCain has warned that a draft will be necessary if we don’t boost military pay, and he has long agitated for mandatory national service. “Those who claim their liberty but not their duty to the civilization that ensures it live a half-life, indulging their self-interest at the cost of their self-respect,” he wrote in The Washington Monthly in 2001. “Sacrifice for a cause greater than self-interest, however, and you invest your life with the eminence of that cause. Americans did not fight and win World War II as discrete individuals.”

heh, i told my classmate pretty much everything people here have already said... he goes "I was going to vote for mccain but you've changed my mind in about five minutes"

Let them know that Paul received more donations from the armed forces than all 3 of the remaining candidates combined (in both Q3 and Q4).

Just remember that many McCain supporters (I'm one) support him in spite of some of his policy positions, not because of them. To us, he's an honest (I know you disagree), principled (I know you disagree) leader (I know you disagree) who will be a President of whom this nation can be proud (I know you disagree!).

What are these conclusions based on?

I liked McCain too when I first saw him on "the daily show". I've seen how he feels about asians though. My kids will be half asian. I'm sure McCain wouldn't mind shipping them off to Iraq/n.

Ditto.

Why won't the OP's friend vote for Paul? Did he give a reason?

McCain's not anti-Asian. He's not prejudiced.

He was just beaten every day in his life for five years and so, unfortunately, I might add, chooses to refer to those torturers with the slur.

I'm sorry, but what exactly are you doing here? From your posts you seem to be nothing but a McCain cheerleader.

Perhaps I'm missing something here... Anyone... anyone? Bueller?
