hello everyone. i'm just looking for some book recommendations, not looking to be a pro or even trade, but i'm curious how all this works...i'm that kid down the block who opened up his nintendo to see what was inside, & dismantled his toys to see how they were pieced together, you get the idea

so i'm just looking for some reading on how all this stock stuff works & strategies, hedging, scalping, shorting, investing, going corporate, etc etc

I can't help with your request, but welcome to the Ron Paul Forums. :)

You're going to have to be more specific about what you want, since finance is such a wide topic. Do you just want information relative to investing? Maybe you should start off with some of the For Dummies series books, since they usually have good introductory material and then recommended reading at the end.

well obviously i'm talking about the stock market & investing...what does a market analyst or stock broker go through??
i don't think a "for dummies" book would offer much help, i know some general stuff & what other general stuff i don't know i could easily look up online for free. if a book's just gonna tell me to plot my money into a low risk mutual fund or buy low & sell high, then i won't be needing it

thanks a lot guys...i'll be working my way through some of these. i'm also looking at "Security Analysis" by Graham & Dodd, it turns up a lot in searches i've done. comments on the book??

I just finished a new book; The Great Credit Contraction. It is a general roadmap to monetary science and basic economic law. I think you'll find it a helpful read. It does not really help much with hedging, scalping, shorting, investing or going corporate though.
