They wanted me to donate to the RNC to stop Hilary's
Socialist campaign war machine but before the young man got anymore
of his spiel out I told him unless the Republican National Committee
got behind my candidate Ron Paul and supported him like they do John McCain,
Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee the RNC would not get a dime of my money!!

I told him in no certain terms unless he could pledge
that his committee would stand behind my candidates platform
I could not support them. No allegiance and support for my candidate
no money!
;)

haha... i'd love to know the gentleman's response

He tried to keep getting his pitch in and I kept up my mantra.

I told him that the RNC has done nothing to support or promote
my candidate and that there would be only one way that I would
consider donating any of my Federal reserve notes for the RNC.

Start promoting my candidate!

He was at times was dumfounded by my countering his donate pitch.
He did say he respected my opinion and would hope that
I would reconsider donating at which point I said if Ron Paul gets
the Republican nomination that I would donate.

I had a blast defusing that young man!

appreciate

I appreciate your feelings. However, the party is not supposed to support or "promote" any candidate in their own primaries. They are not supposed to take sides in a contest among their own.

The person who called you most likely was a paid worker, or a volunteer as part of an organized Republican effort...hardly against Paul and presumbably not backing any Republican, but just doing the Voter ID necessary to prep for the general election.

Even still, I say let them know that they won't be getting a dime of donations until they start treating Ron Paul with the same respect they give the other Republican candidates.

Politely of course :)

agreed

Agreed. The Republican Party is a worthless hulk, and no one should give it any money, anytime, ever.

Indeed.

I had a call from the RNC a while back, before RP was running, and I told the guy who called that I was FINISHED with the repubs unless they decided to return to the principles for which they say they stand. He was astonished that I didn't want to help beat the liberals and we had quite a discussion. I wasn't rude but I was firm. I told him he could call me again if/when the party ever found their principles, otherwise, don't bother.

The guy was just doing his job. The GOP DID support Paul when he was excluded from the NH debate btw.. but after much pressure. Like John said, they aren't supposed to back one candidate over another.. however, it does look like the Louisiana state GOP played some dirty politics (voter caging) to keep Paul from placing 1st there. The GOP should be concerned that the media is pushing one candidate to be the Republican nominee when his plans clearly will not sell in Nov (when over 60% of the US wants us out of Iraq the GOP would be stupid to run a pro-war candidate in Nov..). The media has already gotten their sound bites to use against the other Republican candidates for that thanks to the last debate. The GOP is also far behind the Democrats in fundraising. Their outlook is bleak. Maybe they called you (a Paul supporter) to see how firm you are in his support? Don't think they aren't watching and concerned when ~10% of their voter base is running off in a different direction.

fwiw I would say: "If Ron Paul is your nominee I'll give whatever the maximum allowable is. Otherwise - I'll be changing my party affiliation to Independent right after the primaries".

That's exactly what our point should be. The RNC has a lot of influence over the debate moderators, and yet for some magical reason, the anointed candidates get more questions than others. It's not fair. All we're asking for is equal time.

Agreed. They really don't "support" candidates although its clear that the Republican establishment has indeed circled the wagons against Ron Paul.

What we need them to do is quit worrying about "Socialist Hillary" and start worrying about the Socialist Neo-Cons that are running the party.

Your comment was effective though because it will demonstrate to them that Ron Paul has support. Personally, I think that a Hillary Presidency, short of a Ron Paul win, would be the best thing that could happen for advancing the principles of limited government. It will mean that Republicans will become conservative again and be willing to oppose big government again because they won't be controlling it. Its really sad that that would have to happen, but its true.

Not only 10% of their base, but up to 30% of their under 30 base. Doesn't look too good for the GOP in the future.
