REAL ID Act

I'm a conservative Republican, coming from a conservative house hold, I believe in common sence, I would support Ron Paul regardless on his stance on Iraq, But I do believe the government has a obligation to protect people, just like the food recall, if we dont expect the govt to protect us from corporations who intend to make a profit by selling cheap food, who do we look for?

As pointed out already there is NO connection between the RealID and poison pet food. If you're going to take that big of a leap I question whether you're really a conservative Republican. Really, where is the end? The government needs to "protect" us from drugs so we need a war on drugs. The government needs to "protect" us from car crashes so the police need the right to pull us over to check to see if we're wearing seatbelts. The government needs to "protect" us from "bad herbs and vitamins" so rose hip tea needs to be regulated like Vioxx. Really, the last time I heard this "poison food" argument in favor of more government regulation it came from a socialist on a "peace" forum as a part of his tirade against Ron Paul.

Rather than say "the government needs to protect us" why don't you explain how you think RealID protects us? This is being pushed under the guise of 9/11. Frankly I don't believe the official story. But even if you did it's a story of a total and complete lack of accountability by the federal government to use the tools they already had to stop terrorism. Take for example the Saudi "Visa express" program. Three of the supposed 9/11 hijackers used this program to legally gain entry to this country. How does the RealID stop that? Worse even after Visa Express was ended, the new Saudi visa program only resulted in a 3 percent refusal rate.

Once you realize that the RealID has NOTHING to do with protecting Americans you can understand what it's real purpose is. It's all about control. And the control is for protecting the power of the elites and NOT for protecting individual citizens.
