Ratzinger doesn't believe in the Eucharist as RC's teach

Isn't that the one you told us you just bought so you could dispute EOC doctrine? Ahh--something's fishy here Kevin.

I never owned a Catechism as a Catholic. I went to a RC grade school, HS and we even had a church ON the school property. I was baptized in the RCC as well, went to many a mass.

Not to get off topic but I went to a Catholic school for some years. And similar to your experience, the school and Church were on the same property. And so we had Mass every Wednesday. Beside high school, that was actually one of the more enjoyable environments/experiences as far as school goes. Of course, I had a habit of passing out whenever they shook that incense all over the place. And then when they started talking in tongues I didn't know what to think. I thought they were nuts I just couldn't imagine that being anything natural.

Anyhoo. You just reminded me of it when you mentioned that about the Church and the school being on the same property is all.

????? At a Catholic Church? My parents were in the Catholic Charismatic movement in the 70s and 80s, but it was never mainstream at all. I've never heard anyone else see a Pentecostal style mass. They had that for high schoolers?

Coming out of the protestant faith myself, I had many Catholic friends who told me that they never got anything from their teaching that it was mostly a boring ritual that meant nothing to them.

Personally/myself--there was a time when I would have never thought I'd be subscribing to the Catholic faith--not Roman, but EOC because at that time--I'd been too indoctrinated by the protestants and had never actually done a thorough study of the Gospels by comparison. Many of the protestants are so far off that what they teach is not even close to the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I don't agree with the Papacy--that was my big stumbling block--until the EOC--but now then--there is something else that's bothering me also. One thing that's always been clear to me is that when the Lord wants me to do something--He clears the path to where I can see where I'm going and nothing gets in the way.

I don't believe that there's any perfect church on earth--there are only those that come closer to the mark, but then--does that mean that's close enough to want to subscribe to every jot and tittle of it. Would that get one any closer to the Lord--than simply following the path that's clearly been set in front of you.

You must absolutely study the word of God in prayer to come to your own conclusions based upon what the Holy Spirit has revealed to you. You must also listen to others and find out what they believe and understand that before you can come to any good conclusion based upon honest and sincere seeking before subscribing to anything. This doesn't mean that what someone else subscribes to is wrong for them--it only means that what God has planned for yourself, just might be something all together different. The one thing I won't do is presume upon God for anything.

The Holy Spirit moves spontaneously and harmoniously within the body of Christ as a whole. The Holy Spirit will fall upon whom He will, when He chooses at any time. You can not place Him in a box and say that He will only do something at some appointed set time. I have seen the spirit of the Lord in both Catholic and Protestant churches. He goes wherever true believers reside. So I don't agree with you when you broad-brush the entire Catholic denomination with your condemnation of them. Where I believe that the Catholics have the Gospel of Jesus Christ spot on the mark--I also see other problems as well. Where I see many protestants teaching another gospel, I also see where they have some things right also. IMO--the Gospel takes precedence over anything else, because that is what saves souls. It is the heart and life of the word of God--get the Gospel of Jesus Christ wrong--and nothing else can be reconciled--yet and still--a true believer in the Lord can even overcome this by simply living the two greatest commandments in the Bible---Love God and others the same as you love God.

Now then Kevin--this is for you brother--not that you should be offended by what I'm about to say to you, but that you should read this and see/hear what I'm trying to say to you for your own sake.

What I'm seeing in you is where I was many years ago--not that this will change what you're doing and the way you believe at this time--but this is for the future when and if you ever come to realize that the way you are going about this is all wrong right now. I see you on a path--a journey here that could eventually lead you to see where you are erring in your judgment of the Catholics as a whole. Just as I argued on occasion with many Catholics once--I later came to see my error and to my shame, but also to my growth in the Lord--that tells me today that one can never know that they are 100 percent correct with any thing they believe because we see through the glass darkly in this life. We are to question everything and everyone that attempts to push a belief system on us against what the Holy Spirit is telling us.
The Holy Spirit is the only one who can rightly divide the word of God for us and lead us where He wants us to be and the only way to be sure we're on the right path is to stay in prayer and listen to what He's trying to say to us with regard as to how we should proceed in any circumstance.

Remember what I'm telling you here today---if you pray about this and remain in faith--you will be led to a place eventually where you will come to see your errors in judgment. This is how the Lord works in our lives--the only way we can grow is by making mistakes and realizing where we made them and then moving on to yet a greater level of faith through repentance and changing the way we used to think and believe. It's all a process to humble us and keep us in the understanding that we are always susceptible to being wrong about something in the way we think, believe, talk or any action we take in any given circumstance. The Holy Spirit is there to convict us and keep us humble in this understanding.

You are on a path--a journey and only you can choose where you will go from this point on with that how respond to what God is trying to say to you through His Holy Spirit--He is your only guide that will lead you into truth and the faith during the course and trials of this life. Hopefully you will come to see what I'm saying someday soon.
