I would have been far, far, far better to call McCain out on his 100 years in Iraq comment, or even to ask McCain about sound money, than to ask this question.
There is some value to catching McCain off guard, that's why I voted '2' and not '1'. However, I thought McCain's answer was actually relatively good, it could have been much worse considering he so obviously didn't know what he was talking about. Another saving grace for McCain is that I think the general public will forgive McCain for not knowing what this is, since they don't know what it is either. it was certainly much more forgivable than when McCain mistakenly referred to Putin as the head of Germany recently.
But to ask a question about a topic even die-hard Ron Paul supporters don't know much about isn't wise. Also, I think even if the average joe decides to look this up, they won't think the PPT is that bad. It's supposed to protect against market crashes, that's good right? We know it isn't, but for them, sigh.
Worse, doesn't this seem like the kind of question a crank would ask?
