Rasmussen Poll: Romney Leads By Six In Florida

Last night's Rasmussen tracking poll shows Mitt Romney continuing to open up a lead in Florida. I'm reasonably confident McCain's internal polling is showing the same thing, ergo his outright distortion of Romney's record and last minute wheeling out of the Crist endorsement. Even the New York Times, having just endorsed McCain, believes the accusation regarding timetables for Iraq is misleading. As for the endorsement, McCain campaigned for Crist and I'm sure the Florida Governor was reminded of that in recent days. In any event, it's panic time in the McCain camp as Flordia, and perhaps the GOP nomination, start slipping away.
Bill Kristol on Fox News Sunday just announced that Liz Cheney, former national co-chair for Fred Thompson's campaign, will be endorsing Mitt Romney.

As Florida voters seek to decide between the two frontrunners, support for other candidates is fading. Rudy Giuliani is a distant third at 18%, Mike Huckabee 12%, some other candidate, 5%, and Ron Paul 2%.
